For seismic work, does the company have to pay the mineral owner or only the surface owner? Also, who is Brannon Land Services are they owned by Blue Dolphin? Just can't figure them out.
Seismic is paid to the surface owner (like an entry fee). If the surface is rented and crops are damaged, the damage goes to the renter.
As far as I know, Brannon Land Services if owned by Mr. Brannon and he does lots of work for Limestone. Blue Dolphin does a lot of off shore drilling and has several branches under them.
Brannon Land company has their own leases and don't like to have things changed. I have deal with them several times and have always got my funds within a very short time.
I can't figure Brannon Land Services either. They contacted me with an offer to lease my mineral rights in Logan County (33,17N,2W). When I accepted, they withdrew the offer with no explanation.
D. Pharr,
My guess would be because their is no water to drill wells right now and they had lots of leases that need to be drilled before they run out. Also, some of the oil companies have drill some wells in the area and 2 where dry, can't remember the legals, some aren't that big and pay back is a lot longer than expected. People don't invest unless pay back is within a few years. And if they were leasing for Limestone, they are drilling more wells in Garfield Co right now than in Logan.
Why don't you call them and ask why they with drew the offer. They should be able to tell you.
I did ask the person whom I had been communicating with (by email). He did not reply.
