Cana Woodford Shale (AKA Anadarko Woodford) - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Reed, Thanks for the information. The initial production numbers look real good. Hopefully they will hold up for a while. I would be interested in hearing how much yours declines over the next few months.

Larry, At least you got a little unexpected bonus after that long wait. Continental’s Qtrly. report comes out Wed. I hope they mention our well.

Thanks, Stephanie. Hope I don’t even have to worry about it.

Many wells in Canadian County produce both oil and gas. The oil window is why there is so much activity there for the last few years. It is spreading southeastward now. I don’t think there are any units that have nine wells in them yet, just planning and drilling now. I think in the long run (4-10 years) that four to nine will be the result per unit. You cannot find out how much a well is producing. The OCC does not require that information on both oil and gas. You can become an expert at handling the OCC web site (lots of luck there) and see what you can find out. Very hard to use and I am in the business. I believe two wells on a pad mean two different holes can be drilled from one setup.

Your best bet is to follow closley the main operators quarterly reports. They mention these wells in the Woodford Shale trend and really wave the flag, as in what a nine well per unit delivers. That is a ways off but is your best bet to find out some direct information.

If you figure out the OCC web site, let me know.

Michale We finally got our division papers dated Jan. 30th and hope to get a check this month. Effective date on papers said 6-2011. they had told me first oil was sold in early July and I read on another paper the first gas was sold in late June so it has took them awhile. Turn out ours was spaced on 605 acres due to a correction line so made our per cent a little larger.

My experience in receiving interest payments for delinquent royalty payments was fankly quite easy with most. Put it in writing.

Are any wells in Canadian county producing any oil, If so how much? How much are those wells producing that have 9 per section and how much do they have to produce to get that many wells? Will most sections get 9 in this area? Can anyone explain what two wells per pad means?

Michael, I just received my first check six months after the well began production. But the check came from Cimarex, not Continental.

Hope your well is a good one.

Don, As you know I can navigate the OCC site pretty good but the problem with completion and production information is it’s just not there. So far the information I have on my well has come from the Contental field office. I guess I’ll keep calling them as long as they will talk to me.

Michael, our Continental well started producing August 8. We got our division orders in January and would have had our first check in February. There was a mistake in the division orders so they are being corrected, so now it will probably be March before we get our first check. Continental told me they had to get us our division orders in 6 months or pay interest, and we did get the division orders in 6 months. I doubt they will pay us interest for the time it takes to correct the division orders. I was told we would have to request it in writing.

Thanks Cathy Gail and Reed. I have heard that it takes an act of congress or at least a lawsuit to collect the interest!

I’m happy to announce that our well in Stephens Co. is now producing. Now for the dreaded wait for that first check. Can Larry Trook or anyone else thats been waiting for royaltys from Continental let me know how it’s going? Thanks, Mike

I will keep you posted on the declines.

From Newfield’s Quarterly report:

Cana Woodford – Newfield’s drilling efforts have shifted from the Arkoma Woodford to the oil and “liquids rich” Cana Woodford, located in the Anadarko Basin. The Company assembled a 125,000 net-acre lease position as a southeast extension of this play in 2011. The Company plans to operate up to seven rigs in 2012 to assess this new acreage.

I recieved my first notice of payment from Continental Resources tonight. It shows Gas and Condensate in the Product codes but no oil product code in the payment. Does anyone know if Continental pays oil revenue by a separate check?

Larry I would think it will come in seperate checks, Usually who ever they sale the gas and oil too will send you a check. Larry they finally reported the completion of your well in the Daily Oklahoman this morning.

Same check. Oil and condensate are collected the same way in a tank, and trucked out usually. I have checks from several of these operators (Devon, Cimarex, QEP, etc), and they are all similar. It’s all one check.

On leases with smaller operators, you often see separate purchasers for gas versus condensate/oil, and then there would be two checks.

Larry, I think the condensate is the oil. They should be paying you for the natural gas liquids (NGL’s) also.

Are oil and gas usually separated at the wellhead? If it all goes downline, how is the oil company accountable for the oil and gas separation?

What is the difference between oil and condensate? On my check it looks like the price for condensate is about the same price as oil.

Looks like Canadian County is still pretty hot. Devon has applied for eight Location Exceptions in 25-13N/10W.

Gary aren’t you up that way somewhere?
