Mr. Barnes, I contacted the county clerks office and they were not trained in mineral interest and how to find them. They had no suggestions other than hiring a Landman.
John:
Here’s the link to Canadian County’s online land records system:
You need to call them back and they will assign you a userid and password, which will be required to use the system.
They must have misunderstood your question. Make sure you are calling the COUNTY Clerks office.
john: Here’s what you need to do: Under LAST NAME, enter:
Central Investors*
The * is a “wildcard”, and means that there are other characters following such as Co or Company.
There are documents in the index related to Central Investors going back to 1988. All but the older 2 or 3 cannot be viewed online. You will either have to go to El Reno and take a look at the older ones, or you can order them by phone.
In addition, you can put in your fathers LAST NAME as Richardson and his FIRST NAME as William*
This will show the Affidavit of Heirship that you filed on one of the properties.
This is not the most friendly application in the world, but once you get the hang of it you can get the basic information you need, and exactly the same thing that a lawyer or landman will start with.
Keep in mind that there may be even OLDER documents that are not showing up on this online index. To get those, you must travel to El Reno and search through the index books manually, or hire a lawyer/landman to do it for you.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Our family have some mineral rights in Canadian County. I have old documents showing amount but my Dad sold the land and gave some of the mineral rights with the land. Sometimes he would sale them 1/2 or the mineral rights. I need some one to do some digging to find out the total acres in 2 different townships . One has 2 different locations. Do I need a landman or who do you hire to do this and how much does it cost?
Thank you Mr Andrews. I contacted them and they gave me a user ID. Not sure which part I use for mineral interests. Thanks John
The easiest place to start is at the county courthouse records. Many of the documents are scanned and online. Unfortunately, Canadian County is not on the okcountyrecords.com website which is the easiest to use. Call the county clerk in Canadian and ask how to find the mineral deeds online. You can probably do a lot of the groundwork yourself without hiring anyone.
You have helped me and will help me start finding what I need. Thank You Mr Anderson John
Join the crowd. Not sure if the servers are overwhelmed or what…
That offer is higher than the most recent pooling in contiguous S1 and 2-13N-6W which was $750 3/16 or $650 1/5 by Payrock in Dec 15.
However, there are not any new leases posted for 36-not good to be the first horse out of the gate. Ask for 1/5th and 1/4th rate. Terms of the lease are the most important factor.
Sorry the word ran together on the cut and paste
This is a renewal lease from years ago. The lease from 5 years ago read in pertinent part:

You do not want the deductions at all!
Friend me with the blue icon on the left.
Just received an offer from Turner Oil for $1,500 an acre lease for 3/16. Thoughts?
Township 14 North Range 6 West Section 36:
Marathon buys PayRock Energy in Canadian and Kingfisher counties. I’ve got 2 sections in Canadian County and we’ve had 3-4 oil/gas company assignments in the last few months. Now Marathon has filed an assignment on my 2 sections. 22-11N-7W and 24-11N-7W. there is starting to be alot of activity around me. 3 horizontal going in right next to me on section 21-11N-7W, drilling South from section 9-11N-7W. Does anyone have any information on Marathon? Has anyone had Marathon or PayRock contact them? Any information would be appreicated.
if an landman wants to buy my mineral leases can I just lease my leases to him… and still get royalties… or is there some other way to let the company frack on my leases and I make some money?
how do I look up on line for mineral lease records in canandian county?
Carol Gill, go to Canadian County Clerk website and request login information in order to search filed documents:
Carol, If you sell your minerals, you will not get any royalties ever again. If you friend me with the blue icon, you can tell me your section township and range and I can look up the activity in the area. You may not want to sell if there are pending wells. You would rather have the income from the wells.
You can sell the royalties to one well and keep the minerals, but that is rather rare and again, you would lose the royalties of that well.
Nope – says it is a sale –
The first sentence said it was a three year lease.
