Glenn - we have an offer on the same section. Please friend me so that we can connect and compare notes.
i have received a lease from Arnold in 2013 for Section 7 Township 11N Range 5W. Suppose to drill sometime early next year. did not receive much due to the unknown of the area.
Is it illegal for an oil company to not keep up with production around your section? In particular section 4-13N-9w Canadian county.
Chesapeake has the lease HBP. How come they kept this section when the sold everything else to Devon and Cimarex?
Good question! 4-13N-9W. Looks like it has one well holding it and that well is not so healthy, so hopefully things will change. CPK has been in a whole turnaround mode, so this section doesn’t look like it is high on its list. Given the location, they should be drilling a whole bunch of Woodford wells, but they have not yet. If enough royalty owners start fussing and writing letters that a “reasonably prudent operator” would further develop the obvious reserves, then something might happen-maybe. Another option is to go to the OCC and force them to release zones below the Morrow so that they can be leased by another company. Devon and Cimarex certainly know what they are doing in the area.
The good news is that the reservoirs aren’t going anywhere, so the gas and condensate are still there.
Ava, what is the rest of your mineral description? Should have something like SW4 of SW4 etc. Chaparral has two wells in the section that are producing, but you may not have a piece of them if you are being approached to lease. They are on their last legs though.
Hopefully you have not signed the lease contract yet. You need to be very careful about some of the clauses. The “standard” contract is not in the mineral owners favor. It needs some changes. Friend me and I can walk you through it. (Hit the blue picture and follow the directions.)
Quite often, the landman will not tell who he is leasing for, especially if it is a stealth play. You may want to hold off for a while and let the play develop. Usually the offers will get higher. Not good to be the first to lease in an area.
There are some ways to find other mineral owners, but since there are no currently regulatory hearings, that way is out. One way to search is through ancestry.com. You also might try okrecords.com, but Canadian County may not be on it.
M. Barnes, the full description is the NW/4 of 10-12N-5W. I did go to the Canadian Co site as directed by LCP, I found many of the cousins names I was looking for. And am even a little perplexed as to why we would not have been sent leases over the last decade for some of the activities that seem to have taken place since 2000, I suspect they would have surely been horizontal (have checked unclaimed property and nothing there so was not forced pooled)…infact, there have been so many wells on the property, I am a little surprised that there could be any future drilling. My grandmother was collecting money from a well or wells for almost 20 years up till her death and those were drilled in the 1980’s and 1990’s…so one answer only stirs more questions. No we have not signed any lease…
I have 80 acres located in section 8, Township14 North, Range 8 West (SW/4) where Newfield Exploration Mid-Continent Inc. drilled and completed The Rother 1H-5X in May 2014. How can I find out what the well is porducing and when and if any royalties will be paid?
Hello. I am new to this group. We have a small interest in section 22 12N 7W. Can anyone tell me if there is any activity there? Thanks.
Leona,

The Division Orders come at 5-6 months. Send it in and then you get your first check. Make sure your percentage is correct. It should be on a NADOA form. It should also have a statement that says it makes no changes to the original lease. Be aware that the well goes across two sections, so you will only get paid for your section.
Does that happen often, that a well is begun and then just left incomplete?
Karen, Welcome!
Chesapeake permitted the Purcell #1-32 vertical well in 2012. Looks like it may not have been completed. Pretty quiet in the section. No recent leasing.
I asked about an atty in Kingfisher OK named Harrison.
Someone on this forum said that a good attorney they found was I believe Harrison in Kingfisher? Is that correct?
23-13N-7W, I was recently contacted by King Energy wanting to lease my interests for $500 @ acre with 3/16 royalty or No cash at 22% royalty, 3 year term. Can anyone give me any advice on whether this is a good offer?
Here is what they were ordered to pay in poolings around you.

There are several poolings pending close to you.
Norma Jean,
I think you might want to wait a bit. That is really low compared to the section right above you which was offered more than three times that amount. Might be different reasons, but ……
Newfield is moving into this area with the Meramec play. They have a well completed in section 3 for a very nice well. So I think the activity will pick up in here and you do not want to be the first ones to lease because the offers will be very low compared to further along in the process. There are some spacing hearings and pooling hearings coming up in the area, so might want to wait and see what happens with those first.
Karen, Chesapeake went through some major problems a while back, so either did not spud that well or just walked away from finishing it. Not so common, but it does happen when there are financial problems or a change in management and a focus change.
Thanks to M. Barnes and Ron McKenzie for your responses and the information provided. I really appreciate it.
Recently there was some spacing orders done at OCC in NE/4 14-14N-5W, not sure of what really was done. I have royalty ( pennies each month) on existing well. Not sure where to find information or what to deduct from it.
Cecil,
Here are the orders.

Gastar received permission for 640 acre spacing for the Miss, Hunton and Woodford. They plan to drill a horizontal well.
If you have a currently producing well, then you most likely will be held to your previous lease and any new well will get the same terms. If you had a depth clause on your first lease, then you may be able to lease again and get better terms for the new well.
Friend me if you need help.
