Do you due diligence and consider hiring an attorney that has dealt in leasing in your area. He will be familiar with Turner, and will also know what the going rate is. The fee for his knowledge is cheap in my opinion…Good luck. Ralph Harrison in Kingfisher is who I used, but he is not taking new clients. he recommends another one in town, which I will try to find.

There are no recent pooling orders in that township or the one to the north, although there has been quite a lot of leasing. However, in 11n-6W, a few miles to the west, Cimarex had a pooling order in mid 2014, before the oil/gas price tumble; rates were $1300 for a 3/16 rate, and $1200 for a 1/5 rate.
You might be seeing offers anywhere from $500 on up…
I think you can expect a serious freeze up for the next few months, perhaps as long as a year. It will be hard to peddle a deal, lease, or raise money for drilling. At $46 less transportation, it is not possible to drill, I don’t care what the talking heads on CNBC say.
No permit actually granted yet. Lots of horizontal drilling just to the east in 4W. Also recent H wells in 13-14N-5W and 24-14N-5W plus more.
Gastar/Payrock have approval for horizontal well with 640 acre spacing in 14-14-5. Has anyone seen or know of actual start of well there and/or close by?

John, you can track any of those wells on this OCC website. The wells in 24&25 are generally older 2008-9 Chesapeake wells in the Hunton, mostly gas. Some of wells are spud from a pad that is different from the bottom hole, so use the 9 blocks around you to search. 1002A is the form for completion reports.

My father owned this land with mineral rights but sold some of it. Not sure if our family still has any mineral rights left. He had a few acres that we show he never sold and has mineral rights on. Can someone help me find out if we do have and if any activity going on here. Thanks

The best thing to do is contact the county clerk in each county where you think you might have minerals and ask them their particular procedure. You will probably need to pay a small fee to list your father’s name, you and any others as his heirs and give your new address. It helps if you do have exact descriptions. Then landmen can find you if they are interested.
http://okcountyrecords.com is a place where you can search most counties to see if his name is listed. For a small fee, you can print any mineral deeds or other info. If a county is not here, then sometimes, the county will have its own online system.
There is some leasing going on in 17-11N-5W, so get your name and address at the county.
