FYI - Wolfberry formation being targeted more so than the Wolfcamp/Cline.

The well is producing 165 barrels a day and the oil looks like karo syrup and smells like diesel. This is a good thing? How long do these wells normally produce in this area. I am told sometimes they are only good for a year and they are mere pockets of oil.
Antares Energy Limited Operations Update from 4-Traders
FYI - Operations are in Dawson County and Howard Co.
Jack,
I don’t know. But for Dawson County the average bonus rate two years ago was $300/Ac and RI % was 25%. This applies to Cline, Wolfcamp, Spraberry, Mississippi Lime, Fusselman, Atoka, Barnett/Woodford, San Andres, Strawn, Dean, Ellenberger, Bone Spring/Leonard, Sylvan, Horseshoe Atoll, and any others I missed in Northern Dawson County for the most part.

Last I heard, the company drilling was at a depth of 5,500. Was told they are going to take geo-core samples frequently to be reviewed. How long does it usually take to spud a well from start to finish at about a 11,100 depth?
In south Dawson Co. mainly around Sparenberg. I wouldn’t settle for less than $500 per acre. If a mineral owners settles for the 350 per acre that is being offered the landman/broker is going to flip it for 500. Therefore making $150 per acre off of the mineral owner.
Jonathon, I’ve been buying leases in Dawson County for a firm for the last 9 months, among other things, but I have not paid, nor have I seen anyone actually get paid $500 per net mineral acre. I have heard people making offers at that price, but I have not heard of anyone actually getting a bonus check. Many people were “cold drafted”, meaning they made a deal and signed the lease, but they were never paid. I have heard of landmen in the area trying to “flip” leases, but it is our policy not to buy leases from landmen that jump plinths middle of our project area. You might be accurate, but I have not heard of it going on in Blk 35, T4N. That’s the block where Sparenberg is.
Emily, in theory, it should take them 4-5 weeks as long as they only run into minor problems. If they sample every 500’ or 1000’ that could add as much as 2-3 weeks. They have to pull the drill stem every time they want to take a core sample. The deeper they are the longer it takes. That’s a lot of time just “tripping pipe”.
George, I’m somewhat familiar with the area. What is your question?
Iv’e had someone interested in our rights in : SE/4, Section 104, Block 34, T7N, which is about a mile east of Hy 87, approx 4 mile south of Odonnel. Anyone familiar with that area.
I’m trying to determine what “value” to put on these rights for negotiating. I’m not yet that good with determining whether this area lies within a desirable formation, and I haven’t yet mastered the RRC site on current activity.
Mr. Cato, Powe Oil Field would be my estimate. Reference Dockets in District 8A for field rules for the Powe.
Thanks Ralpr. Still digesting because a lot of this is new to me. So - I know what I’m reading but not sure what it means.
You’re welcome Mr. Cato. I have a keen interest in the Powe. I know the first several wells were just East of Hwy 87 and North of Lamesa about three to four miles. Those wells are what lead to the Powe field designation. It should be west of the Lubbock Hwy, too. Time will tell.

Hello, has anyone learned who has purchased Chesapeake Energy’s leases in Dawson County? Thanks! Chesapeake states they are divested of their Permian basin acreage… It sounds like it might be Royal Dutch Shell, or it’s EnerVest? It would be great to get this info ! Regards, Ralpr
I noticed on the TRRC website that a dry hole had been drilled on the land my family has mineral interests in. We have approximately 960 acres among us and I understand that the rights were assigned to Shell. I’m a little confused because I haven’t seen that Shell has taken out a permit for the land. Is it possible the dry hole was from years past when we had other leases? I have been struggling with the TRC website trying to determine when a dry well was drilled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
