Dispute with surface owner

We bought some acreage without mineral rights in 1972. Later the widow who thought she owned the rights offered to sell them to us and we agreed to buy. From 62 acres she discovered she now only had 5 acres which we bought. Her"lawyer was the owner of all the rest. She needed that money too. That was in Leon County.

I am guessing you mean on a tract that is 62 gross acres in size, she owned 5 undivided net mineral acres, being 12.5% undivided mineral interest in the tract?

Sorry I was not clear and the 5 acres are probably worthless to us as they do not specify they are together or separated and do not join our other acreage anymore as we sold the 62 acres back in the 90’s…

The minerals rights we still have on 5 acres. My husband felt sorry for the widow and bought them.
