sell

@Ron…its south west of Lindsay. Sec 7 3n 4w.

I haven’t heard of any good O&G attorneys around Lindsay, David. Some of these guys on here are pretty knowledgeable if you wanted to send them a friend request they could probably help you on a private line to figure out what you are looking at.

We got another offer to purchase Sec. 29 2n,4w in Stephens Co. This one was for $4000. but they said if anyone had given us a better offer they would appreciate the opportunity to bid more. We’re still not interested in selling but wanted to let everyone know the offers are still coming. Sorry, I was confused again and thought I was on Stephen group.

Gregory…Is your offer to lease you royalty? If CHK has plugged and abandoned then you probably are free to lease again. If the offer is to purchase I say “don’t even think about it”! That would be an unreasonably low amount to purchase. If it is to lease, if I were you I might call Energy Leasing LLC who leases for Newfield (the biggest player in this area from what I can see) and ask if Newfield might be interested in your minerals before I committed to Cambria (I’m not familiar with that name). I know the majors around here are using the 3D Seismagraphing for more of a sure thing when they drill. Just a suggestion which may be worth just what you had to pay for it! lol

We have mineral rights in 2N 1 W. We also got the same offer from Cambria. It is a small company located in OKC.

Darla, makes me think of the Little Rascals!

Darla,

Do you know anything about Texhoma Land Consultants? They have an office in Norman, OK.

Darla,

Actually, the lease was to the north in McClain County. It’s Section 30-6N-3W. Thanks for your help!

Linda, Have no idea, but I have certainly see LaWayne Norman name on plenty of documents over the years.

Joyce, McClain County records are not on-line so I can’t sneak a peek, but you can call their county clerks office and ask them if there have been any assignments from Texhoma Land Consultants to anyone in the last 6 months and see if they find any. The worst that can happen is they tell you no or tell you to look yourself.

Oh wow, hadn’t even checked McClain because they used to be so set against going on-line. Anyway, I guess Texhoma is working for Newfield. Thanks

Thanks Ron. I found the Texhoma leases but could not tell who they are working for.

Darla – why do you think it’s Newfield…is there something in the records that gives a clue. I don’t know enough to see it. Appreciate your help.

Joyce,

Do a search on Texhoma on the McClain records. Look at all of the OG Leases they have assigned to Newfield the last year. There must be a dozen of them.

David I missed your post . I’ll see what I can find about 7-3n-4w. I’m in 3n-4w.

David, guess you can scratch of Von Elkins from the list. I never knew his partner.

Yes, I am a little older than the picture of my youngest grandbaby. I am one of those that always hates any picture taken of themselves…lol.

I have been in the business for over 10 years. I grabbed hold of a couple old timers when I inherited mineral interests and didn’t have a clue what to do with them. I have worked some big projects but I am constantly learning…which is why I like this group.

I found 40 pages of leases from 2012 to 98 for Texhoma land in McClain Co. Records

Hello everyone! Never posted before but I have really enjoyed following your posts. I am a mineral owner and landman in Pauls Valley (Garvin County). I am an independent so I don’t work for one oil company and I do not work for any of the companies you have posted about. I wanted to chime in response to David Hayes lawyer request.

David, I am not familier with any O&G attorneys in Lindsay, but there is one lawyer named Von Elkins in Lindsay that seems to be pretty knowledgeable. Most people end up consulting with lawyers in Pauls Valley. The names in Pauls Valley I am most familier with in regards to O & G are: Dean Hart and Ed Tillery. Hope this helps.

Darla…We have used Von Elkins (have know him for a long time) but when we took our land description to him the other day to help us find out how many acres that our deed said we had he told us he knew nothing about this oil field stuff. He used to partner with Hart who is familiar with O&G but I thought he said that Hart is in another state now. Would you know about that?

If you are a landman I would like to visit with you about something on a private email if you would accept a friend request. You’re profile picture looked a little young to have much experience in that field! lol

Hi everyone, I am new to all of this. Just found this forum last week and it has been very informative. My family trust owns mineral rights to 40 acres in Garvin Co., S15 T2N R1W W2 NE, S15 T2N R1W N2 NW SE, S15 T2N R1W SE NW SE. We received a letter from Cambria Energy offering us $1,250 per acre. I would like to find out the current activities for our area. I see that fracking for shale oil and gas has created new possibilities for existing mineral right owners. Currently Chesapeake Energy has the lease but we have not seen royalties for at least 6 to 10 years. I did talk to Chesapeake and they said the well has been plugged and abandoned. They also turned over unclaimed funds to the state of Oklahoma. Not sure why because my mother(the trust is in her name) lives at the same address where the royalty checks were sent to.
In my research of this forum I read that section 15 is a hotbed of activity?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Gregory Williams

I’ve heard Cambria is just a lease flipper.

Texhoma Land Consultants hasn’t filed anything in Garvin since the 90’s. Back then they assigned to Waller & LeNorman, LLC out of Oklahoma City. Are they leasing here? If it is another county let me know and I will take a look and see if I can see who they are assigning to.
