John,
For a vertical well, I would say this is a very good producer. I don't see anything that jumps out at me..........Hopefully it will continue for many years.

Yes, it is a good producer. I was puzzled about why the completion report is being posted now, since it's been in production for a couple of years.
John,
That's not unusual for some Completion Reports to be that late. Why? I don't know. A lot of completion Reports never show up for the public to see. Could it be possible that the oil company/producer would ask the RR Commission not to post the Completion Report for the public eyes? Yep. I would imagine so.

That's an interesting concept. I figured that the RRC would post completion reports as a matter of course; had no idea that they'd hold off on posting them at the request of a producer. Why would a company ask them to do that, I wonder? And, why would the RRC comply with that request, or a better question would be, aren't they required to post them as soon as they are available? Is the RRC not required to post this kind of information, as a matter of regular business and information? I can't figure why there'd be a reason to hide the info to the public. What would be a reason to hide it; got any thoughts about that?
John,
For instance: This is a well I invested in in 1979 in Wise County Texas. To this day there has never been a Completion Report filed for the public to view......
This what you receive when you try pulling up a Completion Report on this well:
There are thousands of other wells that you get no Completion Reports on. I talked to one of the RR Commission employees one day on the phone about this and he assured me that they posted all Completion Reports. I said OK we'll leave it at that........................

Very interesting. I'd like to think that it's more a matter of someone dropping the ball on posting the information, than intentionally withholding it. But how would one know? Thousands of reports not being posted is surprising, isn't it? Maybe the producers just don't see this as a priority and there's no sanction for not posting it, perhaps.
There are sanctions but they are generally less than $250 and would cost the state more to collect than the fine.

Just checking to see if Clint Liles was ok. I haven't seen any of his comments or his usual posting of new permits. Hope he is ok. Miss him and miss him keeping us up on the drilling action. Thoughts and prayers go out to you Mr. Liles....
Hi Lynn,
Thanks for your kind words and thoughts. I intended to have carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand in January but I had to put my wife in the Hospital on January 3, 2017. She was in the Hospital for 9 days and then in Rehab for several weeks. I brought her home from Rehab and then 5 days later I had to take her to the Emergency room and she is still in the Hospital. Hopefully she will be out of the Hospital some time next week but I suspect she will have to return to Rehab for more physical therapy. My intentions were after recovery from my hand surgery was to resume posting Permits and Completions. Again thanks for your concern.
