Hi Carl. Your answer is correct but calculations are not. Take the net acres (3.33) divided by unit (640) times royalty (1/8) times percentage of perforations in your unit (.50). The perforation percentages usually change upon final survey. If the perforation percentages aren’t 50/50, your calculations will be off.
Todd,
Thx so much for quick response. So still a little confused. Since this is a multi-unit (2 sections) wouldn’t I use 1280 acres rather than 640? And not sure how I stumbled into the right answer using wrong calculations other than dump blind luck.
Thx for any further help
Carl- Lets say only 40% of the perforations are in the section where you own minerals. The other section gets 60%. If it truly was a 1280 acre unit it wouldn’t matter. However, since it is 2- 640 acre units, the owners in the 60% don’t want the owners in the 40% unit to get any of their production.
2- 640 acre units is different than 1- 1280 acre unit.
OCC website message… OCC’s Case Processing Application is unavailable on Friday, May 24, 2019, due to technical issues; technicians are working to restore it… and I thought they were doing some system maintenance.
They are using an ancient Oracle system that does not like MS Win 10. I have to use an old PC running XP, then change to Win 10 and Exployer to open the referenced case histories. I have spent hours in conversation with the OCCs tech who have given up on my being able to access without the pc hastle. I hope they upgrade, modernize the programming!.
Dana Murphy spoke at the NARO Convention in OKC last week. I asked her in the Q&A session if they were going to upgrade the site to handle modern computers and modern search engines. The good news is that do plan to upgrade their system. The bad news is that it is part of a three year plan.
Borrowed this from GD1… Here are some thoughts/notes/tidbits:
First, remove all versions of Java and Jinitiator from Programs and Features. Go into the C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86) folders and delete the Java folder if it exists and if there is an Oracle folder in either of those, Open it up and delete the Jinitiator folder inside there.
For the most part, the OCC online “Instructions for Vista/Windows 7/8/10” is your primary guide.
Prior to starting step 1, set Internet Explorer as your default browser (not Chrome or Edge or ???)
Anytime it asks that you to install/run a program, do so by running it as administrator from your desktop.
After Java downloads on to your computer and before you install it, disconnect your computer from your Wifi. Install Java as administrator while you’re disconnected from Wifi. Reconnect to Wifi after Java is installed and continue with the OCC installation process.
My OCC access started working without going past step #8 but its a flaky process at best and seems to be different for every PC.
The Case Processing Application only runs for me via IE (won’t run on Chrome); the Oil & Gas Data Mining application runs on both IE and Chrome.
Once you download and install Java, don’t update it to a newer version (might run OK with an updated version but I didn’t want to take the chance).
Like GD1, I went a couple of years trying to get the OCC’s Case Processing Application to run on my new PC. I had to wrap my old PC in a towel and blow a hair dryer on it for 10 minutes to get it to bootup. The lengths some people go to use an ancient Oracle system…
Hello! I’m attempting to locate gas and oil assignments in Grady County prior to 1984- for section 12-7n-5w on line in the name of LLoyd Waner or Crudequest with no success. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Jeff
Ma’am, Question here. Do you have any tips about how to get folks to agree to “no production or post production expenses”? They sure do want me to “participate” in that way.
Also, I realize I’m replying to another comment, but I can’t figure out how to add this to the general discussion. The new format has kept me away for the year. Too much trouble to figure out.
Receiving offers to buy NMA on 33-8N-6W.I haven’t received any of these for quite awhile and now am getting them again…I am wondering if there is any insight out there regarding selling at this time vs. go.ding on to them
I’m interested in this question too. I am aware of the Depth Clause, but have only recently heard of putting a clause about no post production expenses in the Lease. Thank you.
I am just very firm about no post production charges (PPC) of any kind except for the taxes. Oklahoma is an “implied covenant to market” state. That means that they have to get your product to market without PPC. I do not answer any of the letters that come before drilling that have a participation option. I either lease on my form with my Ex A or attach my exhibit A to their lease form if it is good enough or wait for a pooling.
Welcome back Lynn. There is quite a bit of activity surrounding 33-8N-6W. That is probably why you are getting offers. Continental has a well planned in 32 and 29.
