Lease Assignment in Doddridge County

I'm also from MN and just found out last week that my folks has an assignment of oil & gas lease - book 91 page 555, James Hershberger on the signature, Doddridge County, West Virginia containing 42 1/4 acres, 1/16th right, title and interest. Parents are deceased and Antero Resources tracked down my sister (executor of the estate), she then found this web site. I'd like to propose sharing information, although my family and I are so new at this we don't really know anything, yet! I'm in the twin cities.

Mary, did you look in the Doddridge Leases and deeds database (I put the link on the previous page of this discussion, dated Sep 5 2014. Worth a look to see what you find. The more you know the better. And ask more questions here if you need to. We might be able to help.

Thanks Mary it is good to know others in the same situation. I have emailed Kyle the attorney that has been recommended and I never hear back. I will try and call him. My issue is how do we know we have a “working interest”, and is our only choice to sell to Antero and if so how much? I will certainly let you know if I can get some advice from an attorney. My mom doesn’t remember a lot about it. My father who is deceased made this investment with 2 of his friends. That is all I know. They were all from Hawley, MN.
