I only responded to the person who was contemplating selling their mineral rights. It has been our experience that some of these companies who send unsolicited offers to buy mineral rights share similar board members/employees (pretty easy to verify through public searches). This is neither a conspiracy or an illegal activity. It is simply a business strategy to make it look like the offers are competitive or to give the appearance that the companies are small or locally based. They also seem to know where new wells are going to be drilled (which may be as simple as paying more attention).
