McClain County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

The horizontal play is quite different than the old vertical play, so the strategy for leasing is different as well. Since the whole section will be spaced, you have to think long term and potentially for more than one well. Once they hold the section by the first well and its royalty choice, that is what you and your heirs will be held by for decades. That is where the higher royalty choice usually pays off. One bonus one time versus multiple wells at the higher royalty. Depends upon the quality of the operator, the geology, etc. Not a slam dunk answer, but a general guideline that I use for our minerals in a well known play. My answer is a bit different for a wildcat area.

JD, Tom 0604-1H-13X spud on Fed 3rd. Sections 13 & 24.

Tom 0604-1H-14X Sec 14 & 23. permitted but no spud doc updated on OCC yet. Both are being drilled from same pad in Sec 12.

Pending well in 14 and 23 by Newfield. You should be getting a bunch of paperwork from Newfield.

New well in 13 & 24 by Newfield. Spud in Feb 2018. All from a pad in 12, so the permits can be found on the OCC in that section. I wouldn't sell.

You should have a ton of paperwork. If you don't better check your address (or friend me and I can give you all the OCC numbers). I possibly see your name on the pooling paperwork or a misspelled version of it.

JD, I will email you with details. The Well in 13 & 24 already spud.

Looking for a good company to lease with in 5n-3w, 6n-3w and 7n-3w. Anyone had any good experiences??

Clay, You would need to be a bit more specific. Each of those townships has different players, so different leasing agents. Where you are in the township is also important as the geology is critical to the leasing.

Thanks all for the info on okcountyrecords. I found out so much information including a cousin that passed away 2 years ago and who got their mineral rights for the other part of my grandparents farm. So helpful for 10.00 a month.

Does anyone know if sec.34-7N-4W has been drilled on.I dont even know who my operator is.During the past 12 months up to a couple of months ago I was getting 2-4 letters a week from the occ.I know I signed with Cheyenne Resources because it says that on the O&G lease. Also any info on SEC-02-06n-04w.i RECEIVED TONS OF MAIL FROM THE OCC,UNTIL ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO.i SIGNED A LEASE WITH RA PINSON ON MARCH 1ST 2017.iT SAYS MY OPERATOR IS EAGLE EXPLORATION PRODUCTION OUT OF EDMOND.jUST A LEASE NO do YET.pLUS SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT EAGLE IS PARTICIPATING WITH CASSILUS.DOES THAT MEAN THAT I WONT GET A CHECK LIKE I WOULD HAVE HAD I SIGNED WITHCASSILUS OR SOME OTHER COMPANY.THANKS IN ADVANCE.FROM THE LOOKS OF THINGS I SHOULD START RECEIVING A CHECK ON SEC-02-06n-04W.

David-The lessee of your lease(s) is not required to inform you when an assignment is made, unless you have a special provision in the lease. You might have some luck calling Pinson's office--the number is on the letters you received.

You will (or should) receive notice of the regulatory matters (those are the Corporation Commission notices), but if you are leased you won't get a copy of the pooling order telling who the operator is.

You can get well information from the OCC by legal description on the document imaging page, but you may have to try searching multiple sections for a horizontal well.

David,

34-7N-4W has been drilled. Well name is Kroix 1H-34. API 3508722108

Spud on 2/26/2018. It looks like the rig left the first few days of April.

I posted info on 2-6N-4W in the other thread you posted in.

Has anyone seen any activity in or near Section 8, 8N-3W?

Thanks

I have mineral interests in Sec. 30 8N 4W. I realize if they were to drill ; I should get notice , but wondering if anyone knows more about my Sec.30 8N 4W ? Also, is there a site to find out this kind of info ? Thanks to all the people who keep us all informed on this site. Rick B.

James,

most of the horizontal activity in 8N-4W has been in the southern half of the township. Nothing new in 8 from the OCC, but lots of leasing in 2017 & 2018.

Typo on the previous one. It was supposed to 8N-3W.

For 30-8N-4W, That is in the city of Blanchard, so they likely have to come in from the south starting in 31. Quite a bit of leasing in 30 and 31 during 2017 and 2018, so looks like timing will be your friend and it may be a possibility.

You can cobble the info from many sources such as the OCC, OK Daily, oklahomaminerals.com by Gib Knight, Daily Oklahoman. I use a paid subscription.

M. Barnes,

Thank you.

There is a lot of activity surrounding 6-6N-3W and 7-6N-3W. Just wondering if anyone else here own rights in these sections. I really don't know how the drilling and payment process works, so i am looking for some insight. I have recently received paperwork regarding Warwick-Bacchus and US Drilling Company seeking a Waiver of Consent Requirements of OCC Rule 165:5-7-6(h) and MULTIUNIT HORIZONTAL WELL and it seems they are intending to do horizontal drilling on these parcels.

I am averaging about 3 letters a week from companies interested in purchasing my mineral rights on 21-6N-4W. There is already a productive well (Indultado) on this section. But suddenly there is a flurry of inquiries. Does anyone know of more activity planned for this area that would induce such?
