Are any of you dealing with Centurion Pipeline in their effort to replace the old pipeline? If you are, where is your land? Have you signed a contract with them to allow them to expand the easement area?
Really quiet in here… Any updates on drilling results? I am concerned things are not going as planned based on some things I have heard. Anyone will good information willing to share?
Ed, I share your concern. I’ve not heard of anything new going on for some time now. We are leased to Devon and don’t know what they have going on right now. The last drill site we know of with them was the Strain place in the Northwest part of the county, I think. Don’t know what the production results were with the earlier wells, but assume they were not good enough for them to ratchet up drilling activity in Mitchell County. Hope they haven’t given up on the Cline as some posts on the Cline Shale Forum suggest. If anyone knows anything, please pass it along.
Ouch… I don’t think those results will drive a lot of activity. Strain…I believe was Laredo? I was hoping (like all of us), the results would have been better from the start to create a lot of activity. I guess we wait and see. Thanks!
I looked at completion W-2 on the Railroad Commission site for the last 365days in Mitchell County. I saw 4 reports:
Strain: Plugged and abandoned 3/7/13
Wulfjen: 264 IP -3/24/13
Scharlach:195 IP-3/7/13
Mayse: 181 IP-12/15/12
My question is are there other completions that have not been reported?
I have received a couple more landmen making offers to lease my land so I think it is still a go.
Yikes! That’s well below what they were offering even a year ago.
Donny, I do no want to pry into your personal business, but can you give us an idea what kind of offers the landmen are making in Mitchell County these days? Their offers may shed some additional light on the situation as well. Thanks and best of luck.
Donny I was wondering the same thing that Robert asked you. I have had two approach me also. I had about give up anyone wanting my land in Mitchell Co.
well I was offered 250.00 and acre and three year lease.
They are talking and making deals with land owners. According to the land man they want to start replacing old pipeline in the fall to be up and flowing in February.
Roy,
You are probably correct. I just looked at all the completions for Devon in Mitchell County for the last 180 days and those 4 completions were all that were reported.
I did not check API’s or permits and did not know they were drilling two wells on Strain. Thanks for clearing that up.
Thanks Tom and Roy! We need to be reminded this is the initial phase. Most of us have never been involved in such a thing! Like Carol said deals are still being made. We have cousins who are still in negotiations! They say it is either the smartest move ever or the stupidest…sorry won’t comment on what it is. Unless I know you, you might be a spy!
I hope that is true David but if that were the case, why would they have started drilling and spending the investment on the wells. Not sure I buy the logic but that is based on zero experience… I know nothing about the process. A well “plugged and abandoned” does not look great and unfortunately, I believe that was with the company that leased our land. Oh well… It is “found money” so it is what it is. Just a bonus if it happens.
Ouch that is not good…Things just don’t sound to good around here right now…
Folks…one of the reasons for the current lag in production and prices locally is that the pipeline must be finished and up and running to transport the oil…73s
Before you get too worried about the IP’s, remember that during cleanup, oil is initially, almost a bi-product. There is a lot of frac water in there that has to be flowed/pumped back before the well is truly cleaned up. I think the Wulfjen IP was reported at 364 BO and 3300 BW, +/-.
Also pipeline timing is problematic, and is based on well production. The wells were drilled for information, as well as oil, which is why they were scattered around the area. In many cases, like offshore, the sequence is Exploration well(s) first; then reservoir engineering based on the data to delineate fields; then pruduction wells; with production facilities and pipelines following. It’s definitely a chicken/egg question, with continuous iterations of estimates of production, and sizing of facilities.
But you are right about P&A. Not hard to figure pruduction facility and pipeline sizes for a field of P&A wells.
Im wondering if Strain well P&A you
re seeing was initial hole which was started then ceased. Then they moved over a few feet and staked new location with RRC which may be still drilling.
Sorry I can not find it now, but there was a good article a few days ago about Devon’s new offices, etc in San Angelo expected to be completed in early 2014. They will have, I believe it said, a total of 14 acres with room for some equipment. At present, their people are scattered and this will have everyone office in the same location. Things are beginning to pick up! Patience every one! Everyone take a Valium and relax! ;-). Just kidding…about the Valium!
I must not be doing something correct. Would someone fill me in on how you get a w-2 completion report on the texas railroad website??? oh and Donny Joe Jones, have you been able to sign a lease yet?? That offer seems super low but it also depends on how much interest you have and where the land/minerals are located.
