Document # 1942355617 Book:484 pg 82, and my moms name was Authurine Bolin Conley
What is the activity in Ellis County Oklahoma? I have a friend that owns nearly a section with 4 gas wells. He was offered 500.00 for the whole bundle. I think this is too little. What does anyone think gas will do this winter, up or down? Thanks in advance.
Do Oklahoma regs or laws require an operator to notify royalty interest owners when they stop pumping oil & gas from a well?
No, not unless it's temporarily shut in. In that case the lease usually requires $1 or more per acre to hold the lease. There can be a time limit as to how long the well may remain shut in but in most leases I've seen, time limit isn't mentioned.
Ann, thanks, and how can one check to see if a well has been temporarily shut in. With one well, royalty checks have stopped, but there are no new documents posted at the OCC. I can understand if production has been cut back due to the dismal crude oil price, but a couple of phone calls have simply found them saying the checks have been sent, and then they don't arrive. No explanation offered. Any suggestions?
Sharon, if they have told you that the checks have been sent but nothing has arrived, I'd go through the OTC to check production or the Oil & Gas complaint department at the OCC.
Sharyn, I agree with Claudia. Sounds like a big run around.
Sharyn, the OTC production unit search page link is https://www4.oktax.onenet.net/GrossProduction/PublicSearchPUNbyLegal.php
I have this bookmarked for easy checking.
Ann & Claudia, thank you. Just FYI, no reports have been posted on production at OCC since the well completion report and the first sales happened in Sept 2013. I've wondered about that, wondered "why"? I will figure out how to request a report from OTC. Thanks again.
Wesley, thanks, and I've been checking this - have it bookmarked. There is NO information offered under "production." (Searched API 081-24147). I guess I'll follow procedure at OTC to request a report.

Looks like a very small company, maybe less than 10 employees.
The well HOWARD 1, I believe, was only 50 BBPD in 2013, when the Completion Report was filed, so it is probably much small now. It is a vertical well around 900'+ deep.
You might go to their website and contact them with the mineral interest owner's number on your Division Orders and the well API number. If you have not received Division Orders, that could be the problem.
Thanks for your thoughts Daniel, and I did sign a Division Order. KS Oil has no website. The production may have been small, but my RI was high enough that I got a fairly nice check each month, which just abruptly stopped after pumping in August. That's why I think it's due to the market, and because they are a small company I'm curious as to whether they just stopped pumping or are going under. I want to try and stay on top of what I may need to do to protect my interests.
ALL WEHLU OWNERS. See Mineral Rights forum for important information concerning large GASTAR purchase in 27,000 acre WEHLU and 206 new wells in West Edmond Field in parts of Logan,Oklahoma,Canadian Kingfisher counties (LOCK ridge) area near Oklahoma City OK See how much you are loosing and antiquated rules for over 65 years that need to be deleted or changed. How about 3/8 to1 quarter pay out instead of the 1/8 you are now getting and bonus money over $1,000 ?? LETS FORCE THEM TO PAY A REASONABLE AMOUNT NOW. LETS ORGANIZE!! Jack at equity25@ aol.com
John,
I assume you are referring to the $43.3 million purchase Gastar completed late last year?
R Story: No,, my information says $187.5m for a $98.3 working interest, in 27,000 acres,in the WEHLU current value of proven reserves est.$191.3m. They found 62 Bois d'Arc PUD locations in the lower plus an additional 44 Chimney Hill probable locations in the 7, 000 acre Northern portion of the block. Also, Gastar has listed an additional 60 Bois d'Arc and and 40 Chimney Hill well locations that could be developed in the Southern lower section.
Statistics sometime change but either way it is a considerable purchase with a potent we need to explore. If we let them get away with it, we will loose a lot of money. I would appreciate any thing you can add.
John,
What do u mean by "a $98.3 working interest" ??
John,
I thought the $187.5 million deal was related to a 2013 PSA. They have increased their position in the area substantially since then.
They have spurred development in the area and mineral owners that leverage properly are receiving higher royalties and bonuses as a result.
This is especially true in areas where the Gastar AMI overlaps the burgeoning STACK plays. Mineral owners have received as high as $6,000 at 3/16th royalty, $3,500 @ 1/5 royalty and $1,500 at 1/4th royalty with all of the mineral owner provisions included.
This is up from the 2013 prices of $1,000 for a 3/16ths lease.
Kent,
I believe it was 98.3% WI in 24,000 acres @ 80.5% NRI.
