Producing Well 14 Years - No Lease, no Royalties Paid

After research, I found that there is an operator in Oklahoma that spud and completed a producing well in 2011 without a lease or royalty rate on one of our properties where we have mineral interest ownership. No royalties have been paid.

I’ve already contacted the operator with proof of ownership. What steps should I take? There is no lease or royalty rate on our property, the property is not NPRI, it is mineral interest ownership.

Thank you in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It is possible that you were Force pooled if no one answered the lease request. Ask the Division Order Analyst for clarification.

Depending on cost of the well and operator financial strength. They might have decided to roll the dice and just not pay anything to mineral owners.if the title is extremely confusing and there are hundreds of owners the odds of someone getting a title opinion done shrinks. As a mineral owner you would have to provide it.

Being from Louisiana I have seen it happen a lot in old fields.

Good Luck

Thank you M_Barnes. I really appreciate it. I am following-up with the DO analyst and will try to get some answers.

Thank you AlexanderHamilton. I’ve already provided them with the deed.

We are in the same situation with inherited mineral rights where there are producing wells. How do I find out who the Division Order Analyst is for our rights in Utah?

Contact the operator and ask them.

Thanks for the reply.
