Thank you for the information Evelyn. We just agreed to a similar offer for an interest farther north in Reeves county. (Blk 2, sect. 31) We got them to increase the option bonus to $3500 per acre, for whatever that is worth!
Thanks for the input.
Thomas, it sounds like there may be some activity in the immediate area. Maybe Anadarko? It took us a long time to get a lease done.
Evelyn, where is your geographical interest? We have received a Shaw offer as well… (“well” no pun!) Inbox me…
Thank you for sharing the BHP article Tim. Looks like those of us who have leases with them wont see much action (we have a 2 year extension). I was wondering if BHP can sell off our lease to another company?
Has anyone heard who Shaw Interest is working for? They generally work as a broker or to flip leases.
Not sure this is correct but could be COG Management.
Mike,
You say Marion’s BHP lease was sold to Silverback? Do you have access to what leases/section/blks etc that sale involved. We have a lease and one well with BHP, sec 16, blk 56 t2 t&p. I do not recall ever seeing any paperwork on a transfer.
Thanks for any help.
FYI, Marion and Thomas, go to BHP website and click on Investors and Media, then lower right Owner Relations (onshore owner info), then Notice of Assignment Reeves County-Upstream assignment . Keep scrolling down the list and what BHP sold to Silverback is listed by Blocks. Starting with Block 4. This is how I found ours in Block 58 in January before we received a letter from Silverback telling us they had acquired our lease and wouldn’t be renewing the option.
Marian, I believe your lease was sold to Silverback Exploration.
Buzz
many thanks.
Buzz is correct on all accounts. Thomas, you are in a good area. Unlikely your lease/well would be sold anytime soon.
Kenneth/Marie – thanks for directing us to that BHP website… I had forgotten where I obtained that file. Later – Buzz
Marian – if you provide the following, I can easily look it up for you:
Original Grantor & Grantee, Survey Name, Block, Township (if applicable), Section and effective date. Abstract number may help but not necessary.
Also, for those of you in the vicinity of Orla, rest assured that BHP is VERY active still.

Thomas – I find no listing of any BHP T&P Township 2 properties being sold to Silverback. Note (for others) that you are ‘in the vicinity of Orla’. Later – Buzz
Thanks Ken,
Went to the website and found my 80 acres as sold to Silverback, but have not heard anything yet either. Prop at BlkC-18, Sec 4 SE 1/4

Sabine Files Bankruptcy in New York as Oil Prices Fall, July 15, 2015

Sabine Oil & Gas Corp., the exploration and production company that merged with Forest Oil Corp. last year, filed for bankruptcy after the price of crude plunged. [Forest Oil has/had some leases in southern Reeves.] Later – Buzz
Marian – just checking… aren’t you H&GN BLK 4 SEC 64… something like 8-9 miles NW of Pecos? Later – Buzz
Opps, yes Buzz you are correct and now I found it. On a quick review of past comments, I don’t see much on Silver back and we have not received a letter that I am aware of.
Thanks again for setting me straight
Elizabeth – there is more than one ‘block 57’… which survey name: ‘T&P RR CO.’ or ‘PSL’? Probably ‘PSL’ or they would be beating your door down.
Two very good interactive map sites:
