Two tracts on the border of Blk 42 and Blk 60.
Looks like Devon has wells permitted within 4-5 miles to our west, north east and east, while Cimarex has a well staked 3 miles to the south.
As of yet, no one has tried to lease from us.

FYI: Property part of upcoming seismic survey, contract negotiated with Vector/ITM for surface rights (access) going for $17.50/ac.
I have a partial interest in rights in Section 4 block C20. we signed a 5 year lease back in 1998 with Frontier Land Co. Nothing as of late on any news or other offers. I assume it expired and they didn’t relaese. Anyone know anything about this area. i don’t see this section mentioned in any of the posts.
does anyone know anything about Crucial Energy Solutions???
Just a note and invitation to all, I have created a Culberson county discussion group. Please feel free to join. Since this is a neighboring county I thought you all might like to know.Culberson County Group
I talked to a senior staff member of one of our operators today.
His company is south of Pecos drilling vertical wells. For your info, he said they are looking at reserves of 200k to 250k per well for expected reserves. He agreed that it was likely that these wells will be at least moved to 80 acre spacings eventually and that 40 acre spacings are not out of the question, should the oil price be good.
IP’s are typically above 200 bopd all the way up to 450 bopd. After 90-120 days typically down to 50-75 bopd and later they are looking at a flat line at 25-40 bopd for many years.
Not unlike what I suspected, and as a royalty owner, quite promising.
Hope this helps.
Actually the gentleman is with Browning Oil, the principal company (who use J.Cleo Thompson to operate their wells).
Thats great info Stephen - could you share who the operator is?
Stephen, thanks - do you know the approximate average depth of these vertical well?
I believe the wells are 12,000-13,000. The operator is J.Cleo Thompson.
Hey folks - I was wondering how many wolfbone trend site have been drilled so far. I haven’t found a easy way to tabulate that. So far I think I have seen 3. I am just trying to judge how much the wolfbone trend is being drilled. I know a lot of leases have been signed…but actually drilled - thats another story. Thanks in advance… and good luck to all of us!
There are 70+ drilling rigs consistently working in Reeves(around 39-40), Ward, Loving and Culberson Counties.
Of significance is the fact that January will see the most drilling permits filed since the Wolfbone play took off…60 as of today.
There is no let off re. activity and that bodes well for the mineral owners, IMO.
Is the any “buzz” about possible drilling NW of Pecos?
Specifically Sec. 10, Blk 55, T5
I can’t find anything, but my search abilities seem to be lacking.
Goetz
If your your talking about Section 10 Blk 54 township 7 then there is a completed well on the NE/4 portion. The well was completed in October/November of 2011and another permited on the SE/4. I was in the area a couple of weeks ago. Below is a link to some production data from the RRC

==> … 60 drilling permits in January in Reeves County alone! <==
Stephen – minus 10 amended applications and 1 redrill for a lost hole. Still, your point is well made… and one more day to go in Jan!
Later – Buzz
Any activity or drilling around Section 8 Block 55 t 4 or surrounding areas? I really appreciate all the conversation about the Reeves county area as it is helpful for me. Thanks
Thank you so very much, Stephen, I really appreciate your response. When you say permitted does that mean they are in the process of drilling? And do you know if that is for oil or gas?
Regards, Louise
Any drilling action N-NE of Pecos along the western flank of the old riverbed? Section 36?
Stephen, a big thanks for taking the time. In our section, due diligence is underway to clear the way for drilling. Lease was negotiated with KEW Drilling assigned to Devon then to Chesapeake-Anadarko.
Not being there it is good to network with you all to see if there are signs of physical change. Did not find permits yet at RR site for our survey.
