Smith County TX Oil & Gas Permits

Clint - expect to see a Chesapeake application in the Thomas Jones A-513 survey, Smith County, TX in the next few days. They have been building a location out here by us all week and I have been in contact with their company man that is out here (refusing to divulge any information, but of course easy to find that information out by checking his license plate!). They have been leasing as "Beta Land Services" - I have been helping my neighbors negotiate the leases (I am an Oil & Gas Landman) for this. Chesapeake is who the landman we have been negotiating with is working for (through Beta Land Services in Lafayette, LA). Seeing as how many acres they have been leasing, I'm pretty sure it will be pooled for gas, not oil - but there aren't any nearby wells around here. Sonat drilled a dry hole in 1981 behind us. Jones-O'Brien (J'OB Operating) owns and operates a few wells to the north of us (Hideaway area), and Fortune Resources, LLC (Dean Carter - out of Longview) owns those. Just FYI. (South of HWY 110, West of Loop 49)

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be looking for that submitted drilling permit. I notice on this lease alert for Smith County a mention of A-513 and was thinking it might be 3-T Operating out of Wichita Falls that might be interested in that area South of Hideaway. Wonder if Chesapeake is going to drill a Wildcat well or if they have a certain formation in mind......Hmmmm

One thing I’ve noticed when I pull on drilling info is that there appears to be two A-513 surveys. Marshall University and TW Jones. I’m referring to the TW Jones survey. But I’m pretty sure it is a wildcat horizontal well by Chesapeake. We will see in a few days I’m sure!

They did seismic last year (thumper trucks) so I’m sure they found something they liked.
