Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Linda, the Virginia is in NE corner of 16. If you see a rig in 15, that is CR.

I only knew of one Vanarkel. What happened to numbers 2-5??? So that probably IS a Vanarkel.

Yes it is. Dont know about 2-5.

Linda: Price of gas is not jus connected to oil price…it also has to do with refinery configuration and type of oil available. We have a lot of refineries that can handle sour or heavy, but not light sweet. So gas and oil price are not always connected in the short term. If you shut down a bunch of refineries, oil would pile up and its price would go down, but gasoline would be in short supply and price would go up.

LINDA–in your comments yesterday you mentioned "The Kelly wells had flares burning "

what section are these Kelly wells ?

Thanks --ROBERT R

Robert…I believe that’s section 14 2n4w where the pads are but I believe they go north across section 11 2n4w where the first Kelly well is located. These are the Kelly’s that Newfield drilled even though Eagle Rock also drilled a Kelly well in section 2 (I believe). If I’m wrong about this I welcome correction.

John Thanks for touching base regarding the Connell Well. Looking forward to future info. Val

Thanks for the news on the Poteet wells Michael. Did they redrill the Poteet 5-17-20XH?

Yes Royce, they are showing all 10 Poteets active. Completion reports coming soon.

Whatley 2-20H also showing active.

Royce, go to the wellbrowse and check Poteet #6 completion report posted.

Those are startling numbers!! 13,228mcf with a choke size 34/64! Am I reading the information right? Even divided by 2 sections, that is a lot. I never thought that would happen. My mom and dad always told us “never sell your minerals”. I wish it had been there for them, but I’m glad it will be able to help their great-grands. You, Linda, M Barnes and many others reinforced that on the forum and we are so thankful to all of you.

Thanks so much Michael. I’ve been checking the wrong site. I go to OCC well browse to check on the status. It must be behind the OTC.

I received Division Orders for Ely 1-25-36XH. I think this will bring it to 3 wells, for those that are interested.

Heard the Poteet’s are “HUM DINGERS”!!! Main thing I want to tell you is to save half of everything you bring in for taxes. We did that hoping it wouldn’t take that much for Uncle Sam but believe me he got the biggest majority of it so glad we put it back!!! Now the wells have gone down so much I’m not sure our estimated taxes we have to pay is not going to be more than what the wells bring in this year. Not complaining but just want you to be prepared!!! Congratulations on those great wells!!!

The Poteet wells 2 thru 10-17-20XH are now listed as active on the OTC. The #2 came online 2/23/15, the others staggered between 3/2 and 3/15. #1 also back online.

Also Michael, have you heard any news on the Whatley-2 in 20-2N-4W?

Oops… from Continental Resources.

Thank you for your very important comment, Linda. Uncle Sam needs to be remembered.
