In my case above, I also own rights to Section 7, directly above section 18. You are saying that for instance they MIGHT drill north thru section 7 starting from a point in section 18?
Still trying to get a grip on this whole process, this is the current reported status of one well. It would seem to me that in mid-July the amount produced for April should be available. Is the reporting so relaxed that nobody knows how much was produced in April yet? I may have found my own answer, oddly enough “Drilling Edge” has the above figures, but the New Mexico site shows production for April AND MAY. Strange.

They will likely drill the E2 of Sec 7 and Sec 6 together. Pads either along the south end of Sec 7 or the north end of Sec 6, I would guess. Gotta assume on an infinite timeline that it’ll happen.
