10N 58W sections 4-9 and 11N 59W sections 23-27 and 33-35

Hi all. This is my first post on this site, so I hope I'm in the right area. What do you think of the drilling prospects for this area? Currently leased to Anadarko and next door to Whiting's Redtail prospect and Noble's East Pony. Thanks for any insight you might provide.

Whiting has a lot of action in 10N58W. They have recently moved into 10N57W also. I'm waiting for them to move up to 11N57W where my rights are. My lease with them expires in a little over a year. I hope it runs out, because the lessors are paying much more now than they were 4 years ago. Also, you should go to the Weld County Group to keep up on Weld county.

I track all the permitting through COGIS and plot it all out in Google Earth. Whiting has a complete line of approved drilling permits across sections 10, 11, 12, 21, 26, and 27 of 10N 58W, and their new permitting direction is mostly in 10N 57W. The Google Earth imagery for this area was updated in Sept. 2013 and it's amazing to see all the new pads in place. Thanks for your reply and good luck on your leases in a year. You should be in great shape.

Do you download a shapefile or plot them manually in Google Earth Mr. Reed?

Hi Adam,

I use a free program called RockWorks (which we own) which allows me to input meridian, range, section and township. It then converts this to longitude and latitude and generates a kmz file and opens Google Earth for display. Hope this helps.

Thanks!! I use a program called Earthpoint that does something similar. Have you thought about adding a feature to RockWorks that allows for the plotting of polygons based on Quarter calls as well?

Hi Adam,

Yes, we've got that covered. There's a program called "Leases" located within the RockWorks / EarthApps / Polygons menu. that supports lot#, quarter/quarter, etc. -style legal descriptions. There's also another program, just for plotting the Public Land Survey grid, called "PLSS" within the same menu. There are also about 70 other programs within the EarthApps collection for plotting things such as color-coded/well-density maps, cumulative production maps, pipeline networks, etc. Hope this helps.

Wow!!! I have been looking for a more reasonable solution for quick lease take off's and 3-D log data mapping. This is one of the best finds I have run across in a loong time for the price! I would be more than happy to help you with any oil and gas questions in exchange for a little direction with the program once I get my feet wet with it!! Please feel free to Private Message me with your questions, I have worked those prospects fairly recently but would feel more comfortable chatting in private.

Thanks again for the find!!!
