Royalties paid my family since 1923 were stopped in early 1990, but the well is still producing oil. According to the operator the section which was left to me from my aunt was divided out if the group. The Operator would not provide the names of people who are still receiving payments. Most likely it would be the other six family groups. I recognize the need for legal assistance but as a sr citizen the additional expense would be prohibitive. Any ideas, help or recommendations would be appreciated.
Payne County, Section 15, E/2,NW4,T;7N, R1E, I.M., Family name is Norman and the operator is Leasehold Management Corp. The expired and I refused renewal. The well is named Katie#1.
County, section, well name? Family name & operators name? Is the land leased again to someone else if it's not 'included in the production'? If it's Payne Co, OK, send me some more info & I'll look around next time I'm in the county offices.
Is there a registry to look up attorney complaints? I have a situation where an elderly relative of mine was somehow convinced to sign over several mineral rights holdings in Oklahoma. There was an attorney involved in this process so I'd like to look that attorney's record up, as well as find additional legal assistance. How do I find a trustworthy attorney? Any help is most appreciated.
In case in did not receive my response, the following is in response to your question. My Father is not involved with this property. My Aunt is Cecil Norman, Other names on the deed include Roberta Morgan, Laverne LittleJohn, Auranola Scott Beal, Gladys Fitch and Emma Coleman.
Can you give us the name of your father and aunt? It will help searching the records.
Search on here. I find her on a lease or two but can not find any assignment from her or Trust to anyone else. You may be able to find out more because of your direct knowledge of everything.
Mr. Norman, I work on these things for our family all of the time. I don’t know if this will help, but, the first thing I do is get the deeding clear and then look for the lease and then contact the company showing them how we have legal right to the well and then the lease.
I am not an attorney, but if you like, send me an email and we can talk . You might be able to fix this with no attorney fees.
You might also want to contact the oil company and ask them to provide you with what they are basing their stance on. They get title opinions on all the owners interests before paying, so they should have legal reasons why they don’t believe you have an interests and they should be willing to work with you. This will give you a starting point to unravel the mystery.
