Kingfisher - my family members signed lease agreements last December. We have received the notices of hearings and saw that Chisholm O & G was granted their request.
No one has received a check. Chisholm does not return phone calls or e-mails.
Does anyone know what the status is of this lease? On June 22nd, they filed an intent to drill.
It appears that the holders of the mineral rights should be paid prior to the commencement of drilling, is that a reasonable assumption?

If you signed a lease, there is typically a lease bonus paid at that time. However, there are lots of delay games played.

You should have received your lease bonus money at the time of execution of the oil and gas leases. The mineral owners don’t receive royalties until the well has been drilled and produced. The drilling can take 60-90 days. By statute, revenues are to be paid with 180 days of first production. So chances are you won’t see any revenue, assuming the well is actually drilled and completed as a producer, for another 8-9 months.

Gastar & Chisollum are merging- unfortunately for u= they are a bunch of crooks
