Thanks for posting Clint. It’s the Texas Observor, so the source has to be taken with a grain of salt,especially the statistical analysis. Also the timing along with Biden’s proposal for billions to plug abandoned wells in his infrastructure bill is probably no coincidence.

That being said, the RRC enforcement and ability to keep up with abandoned wells is sorely lacking and the landowner experiences ring true. There is a lot of room for improvement in what Texas is doing to address this issue.
