I’ve been following case # 201902847 but saw “This matter was DMOA on 09/21/2021” on the OCC website. So I thought nothing was happening.
But a family member recently received what looks like a lease offer letter (I’ll attach a copy when I figure out how to do that so you can see exact wording). It’s from King Energy for: Swan Lake 1-29 1H, Section 29-9N-11W, Caddo County Oklahoma.
Sounds like there IS some activity. I don’t have a case # so I don’t know how to look-up on the OCC website. Any insights are appreciated, thank you!
Thank you Todd! I should have mentioned, since this is a horizontal well, that the letter said: “The surface location will be in the NE/4 of Section 32 and the lateral will extend north into the E/2 of Section 29-9N-11W.”
I believe I’ve seen in other postings that the filing may be in the surface location. I didn’t think to check that until just now. Sorry, still getting used to this business.
Just heard from a family member that there is a proposed horizontal well starting in section 32, extending to our section 29-9N-11W. But I can’t seem to get any info from the OCC website without a case #. Would anyone be able to find that case #? I’d like to know status of the well. Thanks for any help!
Hello mineral rights owner of 156 acres section 32 T7N R13W. I have been contacted by RES requesting a surface waiver for development of a utility scale solar farm. They offered $1,000 to waive my rights (which seems like nothing). Any suggestions?
You would need to track down an attorney who specializes in solar. That sounds like a very small amount for a massive use of your property for solar for a very long time. There are some places that do agriculture compatibly with solar panels. Lots of research to do before entering a contract on your surface. Search online, search the major university websites, etc.
You were spot-on, Todd - a proposed well. They need to receive “lease release” from the current operator (no production in over a year). Is “lease release” something I should be doing for myself going forward (when no production in a long time)?
Hypothetical question: IF the same operator was proposing a new well, would they be using the old lease (whatever those terms and % were, rather than offering a new lease)?
