I am new to this forum but have found it interesting. Our family has mineral interests in Roger Mills -21 -14N-26W. For some time, the payments are lower in amount and less frequent now. Does this mean the area is depleted or about to be?
Wells naturally decline over time as the pressure in the reservoir depletes and the oil and gas are removed. You can visualize a bathtub draining. Prices for the oil and gas have also dropped over the last few months, so in combination with declining volumes, the checks go down. Wells can hang on for a long time at a low rate. If your minimum payment was set at $100, you can change that by sending a letter and asking them to reset it at $25. More frequent checks, even if smaller.
I’m in the southern end of Roger Mills. Are there any prospects down south?
