I AM NEW TO THIS GROUP; HAVE MINERAL ROYALTY ON THE J C ROPER LEASE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY ACTIVITY ON THIS LEASE? I JUST GOT AN OFFER FROM PETROLEUM CO WANTING TO PURCHASE MY INTEREST. CURRENTLY, ONLY ONE WELL WITH VERY LOW PRODUCTION. ANY INFO APPRECIATED.
THIS ROYALTY IS IN THE W.C. DALRYMPLE SURVEY AND J.H. MORE SURVEY
Carolyn be very careful o f offers wanting to buy your royalty, Devon is currently drilling horizontal wells in the Strawn formation also the Barnett shale I received an offer to buy royalty after Devon had completed a well on the property, I assume they thought I didn't know about the producer this was offered before I received a division order.
Thanks, Billy R. Simpson for your info.
Info I gained from Devon this week is engineers have planned for two wells to be drilled between 2014 and 2016 on our lease. Of course, anything could happen but that's what is on the record now. They will be horizontal; that is all Devon drills.
I have no plans to sell with this new information.

I have mineral ownership in the OF Leverett Survey. There are two leases on this piece of property. The first was made in 1947 for depths belw 5500 feet and the other was made in 1957 for depths of 5000 feet and above. In 1947 CJ Waters signed the first and Elmer Caswell signed the second in 1957. McCommons Oil Company made the Caughlin Strawn Unit and Christie, Mitchell & Mitchell Company formed the JE Caldwell Unit. All this was later bought out by George Mitchell of Mitchell Energy in The Woodlands, TX. This company was bought by Devon Energy around 2002 and they sold the Caughlin Strawn Unit to Aspen Operating Company. Through inheritance I received this headache. I am dealing with Devon Energy about a royalty conveyance that my mother did back in 1994. She conveyed her royalty of the J E Caldwell Gas Unit, but in 2010 Devon Energy opened the J D Hooker A Gas Unit on the same property and is continuing to pay that part of royalty to the people of the conveyance. My argument is that my mother did not convey the royalty f the JD Hooker A Gas Unit. Right now I am talking with different attorneys to get what I feel is rightfully mine. What I am saying is, "BEWARE OF DEALS THAT SOUND TOO GOOD."
