Hello all,
I have a question. I am trying to negotiate a lease with Jackfork land regarding 32-7N-6W and he told me I can make out and sign an affidavit of heirship. I did see online that usually the one signing the from can not or should not be someone that has something to gain by signing the form.
Does anyone know if this is indeed true that I can sign an affidavit that benefits me?
Thanks

I went through this same thing when I leased my acreage in McClain County. The company I dealt with said that my wife could sign it, but not me, or anyone that "directly" had anything to gain (didn't make much sense to me). And, it had to be noterized.

Adrian, When I signed with Jackfork they provided the Affidavit of Heirship.
Are you referring to me Brian to give you a call?

Yes you can sign the affidavit of heirship and have it notarized - and the company doing the leasing should be able to prepare one for you with the lease, or send you a form to go by, if you request it.
Thanks Chris,
