I live in Texas and the county is Upshur. I am wondering when the Texas RRC sends out a packet? Does this mean that the well is permitted? I haven’t heard anything since the contract was signed and I got a bonus. That was in January. The oil company is Rose City. I thought the permitted well was Morningstar 1, but I don’t think this now. Is is possible that I simply leased my mineral rights and nothing has been permitted?
This is a link to the Morning Star well. Drilling commenced March 21, 2024, but I can find nothing online about the well being completed. You might consider phoning the Texas RRC and see if you can get any more information through that channel. You might also make a friendly call to Rose City and or the landman who leased your minerals.

If you give the Block, Abstract, Section, someone on the forum may be able to see if another well has been permitted if not the Morningstar. Not all wells have a permit for the surface hole inside the tract where the perforations will be.
The only info I have is that it is in the Ahira Butler Survey. A-22. I use the RRC’s GIS viewer and know that there is a permitted well by the oil company. I thought maybe my portion was pooled with others. It could be that I’m looking at the wrong well and that nothing has been permitted.
Does this political race for president have anything to do with Texas drilling? Just wondering as a side because on this site some mentioned The Morningstar and fracking.
