Suggestions? We have been involved with an attorney for several years and now that probate has been completed OK has not responded to many phone calls requesting monies to be released. Not sure what to do. next.
When you state “OK” who are you referring to? Have you contacted the unclaimed funds site at the Treasurer’s office?
Oklahoma. My brother has been making calls for weeks, I will ask him who exactly he has contacted. Thank you for the suggestion.
The Oklahoma Treasurer’s office does impose many requirements before releasing funds. They have been the target of fraud in the past. So, they often require official death certificates, copies of instruments that put your ancestor into title, etc. Carefully review their requirements and try to get them all the items requested with a single submission. Sometimes they may accept an alternative form of proof for some documents.
