Alfalfa County, OK - OIl & Gas Discussion archives

Well found out the well they were drilling on our property (14-26N-11W) blew up and now they are going to have to close it and build a new one…any idea how long it takes to do this? Also, what would cause it? I heard a combo of salt water and natural gas.

Alfalfa: Midstates Petroleum Co. LLC; Landsdown No. 1H-19 Well; NW1/4 NE1/4 NE1/4 NW1/4 (BHL) of 19-26N-12W; 534 barrels oil per day, 4,097,000 cu-ft gas per day; TD 10,966.

Mike, is that the Ches. well just south of town? That was a real train wreck. They hit an unexpected pocket not very deep.

I just saw on occ where Sandridge has applied for spacing at 30-27n-10w. To my knowledge this would be the first Mississippian well in the NE Cherokee unit. Does anyone know about this? Has Linn farmed out the right to drill to Sandridge in the entire area? Thanks for any info…

RH Horton, yes it was. they said they ran into a big pocket of salt water at 500 ft. they are closing the well and moving to the other side of the section to drill the next well. looks like november is when they will begin. disappointing because we had high hopes for something good but all is not lost, just a waiting game again.

Received the spacing letter on 30-27-10 two weeks ago, looks like Chesapeake has farmed out to Sandridge, dont know about Linn.

Is Chesapeake looking into putting more wells east of Dacoma ? Out well is on 16-25-12 and they have added a second well to the section north of us, 9-25-12 and to the south of us 21-25-12, and 22-25-12. Our well did as well as the others and still producing very well.

How is all the drilling and activity doing east of Cherokee towards the old Cherokee dump ?? 5-26-10

I have a well on 16-25-12 that tested out at 120 BOD. The first check had one full year of royalty on it. They took a year because of an ownership dispute. Does anyone know if they were supposed to pay an interest amount or is it just our fault because of the dispute and they have no interest payment to owe ??

RH, We’re you leased with Chesapeake or were you held by production with Linn? All our stuff is held by production by Linn, trying to get an idea of what it’s going to take to drill on our sections. Any info would be appreciated.

We were leased to Chesapeake but the spacing came from Sandridge. We are subject to a 1/8th lease signed in 1953 I believe, which Linn has now taken over. Where is your property in relation to the Stella Cemetery

Is production any different with a vertical well compared to horizontal wells ??

RH, We have interest in 3 sections, 19 27 10 is directly N of highway 11 and is I believe just across the street from the cemetery. 24 27 11 is also directly N of highway 11 but a mile West. 25-27- 11 is directly west of the cemetary and directly south of highway 11. Linn has all 3 as part of the NE Cherokee unit… We want Sandridge or chesapeake to drill as they have had very good wells all around us. So your interest in sec 30 was not held by Linn? Good luck with the well it should be a good one.

Your interest with Linn will be the original deal that was made, even though you were leased to someone else recently, hopefully 3/16,but probably 1/8. That said, Linn is currently drilling on The Ginder property west of you that is in the Unit I believe.
