Well after a year and a half of next to no communication from Antero I was finally deemed worthy enough to get a phone call from their customer service last week letting me know that all of my paperwork was in order and that I would receive a whopping 27 dollars for all of my gas and oil and mineral rights. I thought the woman was joking and I asked her to repeat herself.

According to Antero, which is what I’m sure this woman was scripted to say, do to the high cost of taxes and the high cost in gas, unfortunately this is all you will receive but there’s always a chance you could receive some more money if and when gas prices go down. This is ridiculous. Am I the only one who has experienced this? Because right now I’m thinking I have to be the only one!!

Your check is based upon the net acres that you own in the spacing unit and your royalty amount. The price of gas has been very low over the last few months. In some parts of Texas, the operators are having to pay to have their gas transported at negative numbers. So you are happier than many folks in Texas.

General consensus is that gas prices will begin to rise in late 2024 and into 2025, so hopefully you will see that uptick. Keep copies of your check and statement for seven years for IRS purposes.
