Antero Resources Corp., Franklin L. Butler and XTO Energy Inc

Antero Resources Corp., is at again. Antero has sued again to force pooling in Doddridge County.

According to the complaint, Faye L. Smith bequeathed her interest in the subject minerals to Ohio State University in 1991. Since that time, neither the university nor the trustees have exercised their rights to the minerals on the land, the suit says, preventing the plaintiffs from also exercising their rights to the minerals.

That makes sense. Some guy wants his land drilled and OSU either won't lease or they can't come to terms. Probably a partition suit. Makes it a little easier to swallow when a big corp. is involved rather than just you or me. If they don't reach an agreement, the mineral interests or property will be sold on the court house steps. Would love to be there and see the bidding war between OSU and Antero/XTO. From what I understand, Judge Sweeney is not a big fan of partition suits. Should be interesting.

I would not be so quick ck to think that the minerals will be sold, This is going in front of Judge Sweeny who does not think to much of forced pooling.

Here is equally against partition suits for certain situation, similar to this. Like I say, should be interesting.
