My sisters have received their up front bonus checks. I’m a non-consent, and have heard nothing. I checked the NDak state site, and it showed no drilling, but I would like some verification. We’re in Township 150, Range 101, Section 6
Thanks.

Mr. Arildson, it doesn't appear from the Gis map that you have been drilled yet. You are bracketed by wells in the next spacing west is a well that has done almost 52k barrels in about a year and two spacings east is a well that has done 62k barrels in about the same time frame, not barn burners but I think profitable wells. If your lease is not close to expiration, it may be awhile yet before you get a well. Good luck.
My distant neighbour claims she is over 100k barrels for the year.?is she blowing smoke?
That’s what I read from the GIS map. I thought I read somewhere that wells could be ‘hidden’ for some period, and info on them might be available elsewhere. The 3 year lease my sisters signed is brand spankin’ new.
Thanks for the response. My friends address me as Ed, the kids as Father, Sir.
Mr. Monson, wells can vary widely as the individual operators vary in how they produce their wells. I'd have to know the location of the well in question to look at the production to see if your distant neighbor is telling the truth. It just takes a minute to look up.

Ed, I can't even find a permit to drill your interest. The confidential dot in section 31 just north of your section 6 says it's for a well in the 31-30 spacing, which brings us back to permits not being as meaningful as you might think since they cost about 8 cents an acre for a 1280. If you share the same operator with the spacing above you I think there is a good chance your well will be drilled at the same time the well north of you is drilled regardless of how long you have left on your lease if it will save the operator money, which I am all in favor of. If the operator can save on his well cost, he may drill us a second one.
HI, MY NAME IS WILLIAM AND I'VE RECEIVED MY UP FRONT MONEY AND I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING MYSELF. IF YOU'LL FIND ANY INFO PLEASE SEND IT MY WAY.
Ed, looking on the NDIC site it shows section 7 which is spaced with your section 6, the status being LOC as of 8-29-2012, LOC being permitted to dril. I didn't see a yellow/orange dot, just an empty circle on the GIS map, possibly Liberty Resources LLC does not know where they want to drill yet, in any case it appears that they are interested in your spacing now.
Mr. Nick, what is your legal description? Is it the same as Mr. Arildson's?

Thanks very much for the update. Would it upset you too much if I offered to pay your $50 dues for checking the status for so many of us? I can do it in Sacajawea dollars, if needed.
Ed, being of some small assistance is payment enough. I already had the NDIC site open and it was a matter of literally seconds to look it up. I do appreciate the offer though.

Mr. Kennedy, it appears from looking at the GIS map, that something is happening in my area: 150, 101, 6. There’s a green structure today that I haven’t seen before. Could you tell me what it is, please? Incidentally, I had a second offer to lease, from a different company, with half the upfront money as my initial offer. I’m forever to be non-consent, however.
Ed, that is a rig symbol. The well was spud 10-29. That was really fast work getting permitted and starting in such a short time. It goes to show that it really doesn't matter if the operator has a permit or not because they can get one on very short notice. I suppose you will get even more offers. A well being drilled "right now" is very attractive compared to a well that "might" get drilled 2 years from now. Please keep us posted on how things go. Robert.
Robert, the drilling line seems to have now been completed, based on the line going all the way through the two sections. The head of the line is now denoted by a small green circle. What does that mean? The symbol directory indicates a dark black circle is a well, so I suspect the green circle is heading toward a black circle? Ed
Ed, the green circle is a code for drilling, or work being done. Since the wellbore is drilled the most likely thing is that the well is undergoing or waiting for fracking/stimulation. Some operators get the fracking done right away, some take more time than others. KOG waited 9 months after drilling 2 of my wells to have them fracked. Hopefully yours will get done sooner. On the plus side, being off the confidential list already, you will be able to see the production a couple weeks to a month after it happens and not have to wait a couple months while it produces before you know how it's doing.
