Best mineral rights mapping website

Hello all,

What are the best sites, free or paid, to track mineral right properties? I would like to be able to map out and see active and inactive wells on our properties, production numbers and if possible, pending permits. Bonus points if website has nice layout and is user friendly. Interests are in Texas

Thanks for any suggestions!

For Texas, use the Texas Railroad Commission website.

The new Energy link site is doing this apparently. You can track your payments for royalties but (and I have not used this new feature yet) they are claiming that for some of the paid levels of their service that they map your wells and track permits and drilling. Might be worth looking into.

If that doesn’t work, I would and regularly do what M_Barnes suggested.

RRC Public GIS Viewer

You can copy the above link. Not sure why it wont hyperlink but that will get you there. There is a few youtube videos on how to use Texas GIS map which you may find helpful as well.

Good luck,

If you haven’t checked out what Texas Railroad Commssion has available online here is the link to their interactive map https://gis.rrc.texas.gov/GISViewer/

There is a tutorial on the basics of using the map.

If you are wanting to see the boundaries of units you can pull up their plats are attachments to the permit applications you can access through the map.

Thanks everyone, will check out the RRC site and see the new features on Energy link!

Is there a Public GIS Viewer for Oklahoma?

Yes, but is not friendly and only posts the surface location. Be patient. You have to really zoom in.

A better way is to use the free version of welldatabase.com You can pay thousands or just do a signup of the free piece which will give you a good bit of info.

I use MineralWare for the parts of the property management you are looking to cover. You can either upload you shape files or they will create them from deeds/property descriptions that you upload. The service transfers all of your Energylink check details into the system at a cost less than you would pay EnergyLink for the service. Plus you can upload pdf check details and have them integrated. The State information is good for TX and OK. LA is a off due to how the State reports cross unit wells, but it is still good. Most of the other States work well within the limits on how the States report the data. They do permit notifications and will do rig notifications with a step up service which I do not find cost effective. I have found MW to be 35% more cost effective than the corresponding MiQ product. Good luck.
