Block 1, Section 183

Hi, we hold nonparticipating mineral rights in Reeves County, survey by H&TC Railroad Company, Block 1, Section 183, Abstract number A-957. Can anyone tell us what is going on in the area right now? Thank you so much.

I own the land and 50% of the mineral rights in the NW/4 (160 acres) and 1/8 of the minerals in the NE/4. These are leased to Concho and Patriot Resources respectively (Patriot is working with J. Cleo Thompson). I'm not sure who owns the rest of this section. I've been told by both that they are working out a deal to see who will operate any wells drilled in this section. Concho likes the area and has had good success with the wells to the west (Big Chief lease). Concho is aware that my lease expires in July 2015 and they told me that they expect to have a deal done and drilling started before then (They don't want to pay another signing bonus).

EM,

I see several approved permits for wells in the surrounding area of your minerals. After checking some completion reports of wells in the surrounding vicinity I see IP(Initial Production)of 350 to 425 BOPD and some associated natural gas. You are in a very good area for future activity. Good luck with your minerals. This link is for an approved permit for a well in Section 138 to the south of you:

Thank you so much, Tandy. The mineral rights have been in the family since 1952 but we are just learning about them.

Well EM that must mean you are kin to the Camps, The Kyles or The Casey's!~! Welcome To Reeves County Texas!~!

Tandy

Tandy,

I acquired some land and mostly minerals in various parts of the county in late 2007. I'm in a few sections just north of Verhalen, some land off of 285 across from the dairy south of Pecos, a few sections NW of Pecos, and the section we are discussing. So far so good with production, but from what I've heard lately 2015 may be a good year, if the price of oil holds and the drilling continues.

Mike

Oh yeah Mike That Dairy was Charlie Mitchells Dairy for many years and knowing him and watching how hard he worked convinced me for life to Avoid Dairys at All Costs!~! We have 2 sections about 2 miles south and West of Mitchell Dairy and Davidson Feed Lot...or the Remains There of!~!
