Just talked with some folks about the latest and greatest exploration: drilling for brine water to extract lithium and other minerals. They mentioned Garvin County 4N 3W. Has anyone heard of this?
The extraction of lithium and other minerals from brine has been around for awhile. Not sure about the economics of doing so. In some areas, the produced water from the wells can be cleaned up and recycled for further frac purposes, extracted for minerals, etc.
In south east arkansas, the brine water from the smackover formation has econmical amounts of lithium- check out Standard Lithium (SLI)
