BrownRock Resources out of Dallas contacted me with an offer for my lease Sec 31 21S-27E in Carlsbad. Anyone done business with BrownRock?
SPC Resources has also been leasing in that section. (May be affiliated with Permian Resources). Leases filed so far mostly have a 3/16ths royalty.
Permian Resources has Two horizontal wells already permitted, Fred State Com 402H and Fred 442H. Surface location in 32 going west into 31-21S-27E and then into 36-21S-26E.
As with any lease, it is prudent to get an oil and gas attorney to review the lease as drafts are usually not in the mineral owner’s favor.
Thank you for the information about Permian Resources, only so much I can find out online. Hadn’t had attorney involvement yet but it may be time.
You can observe qualified professionals (often with localized expertise) who provide services to mineral owners right here on The Mineral Rights Forum. You will notice them in 3 different places on the site:
-
in display image ads and text links on site
-
in our Mineral Service Provider Directory in the main navigation bar above. These are arranged by professional discipline.
-
as a Business Member within many conversations throughout the site Look for the blue colored “B” on their picture and blue colored text).
These practitioners are often able to provide specific (and often localized) services that meet your needs.

Mewbourne is the Operator of record in this section and the surrounding sections with active wells and a large number of permits. They have a pad with two wells on it and a large tank farm from a few years ago in Sec 31 T22SR27E and they have just entered into a surface lease for a new pad for up to 10 wells (looks like 6 permits in place so far) just south of the existing pad in the same section. They also purchased approx. 6 acres further south of this in Sec 36 T22R26E.
I am not familiar with BrownRock but I assume they are looking to lease in order to then work with Mewbourne. I would recommend reaching out to Mewbourne directly to see if they will lease with you. They have been a great operator to deal with and are willing to negotiate and work with owners on terms for leasing both minerals and surface. We have received 1/4 royalty with no deductions on most all of our negotiations with them in the area.
Good luck!

So, can someone tell me if the new pads involves Sec 32, T21, R27E? We inherited it about 10 years ago and have never seen a penny. Supposedly it had been paying on LaHerta, Tracy Fairway, and CDMA Com 2 at one time, but not since we got in in 2014. Just wondering…
BP11s new pads involves Sec 32 of 22s27e (not 21s27e).
MBarnes Fred well permits go through N/2 of Sec 32 of 21s27e. 3001544976 and 3001549978. So those are your huckleberry.
@NMoilboy Thank you so much. That’s definitely good to know.
Apologies… I misread the Township and Range in the original post. MBarnes is 100% correct that Permian Resources is the operator leasing and permitting in and around Sec 31 T21SR22E. They purchased SPC/Santo earlier this year.

Hi Sarah, I too have an offer from BrownRock Resources for one of my minerals in West Texas. Have you signed a lease agreement with BR Resources?
