I was offered by my ex-neighbor (she lives in France now) her mineral rights for 43 acres of land. She has an offer from a company in Texas for $25,000 but she wanted to offer it to the surrounding landowners first which I was the first she contacted. Right now there is 3 Clinton wells…one was capped and the other two have very low production. My attorney is wanting to perform a title search but wondering if I want to put the money into the search unless it will be worth buying the mineral rights. If I knew that they would be drilling in this area in the future I would consider buying them but this is still uncertain. My attorney tells me if I have an extra $25,000 laying around to go for it but if not dont. It is just a gamble. Does anyone have opinions on this on what I should do?
If you add in your County and the legal description, then someone in Ohio may be able to help you.
