I have used a comment of Hutch's to create an EXCEL spreadsheet to calculate NMA's for people that have leases with a 3/16 royalty. I haven't been on the forum for quite a while so someone may have already done something like this but if so I am not aware. I don't know if this will work for people unless they have the EXCEL program.
By changing the number in the cell A2 from 40 to any other number changes all the of the calculations. Likewise by changing the cell D2 from 200 to any other number changes the calculations. Same thing for E2 and G2. This seems to work but if there is a question or an error, please let me know. Thanks.

Great spreadsheet. For those of you who want to use it in other areas, you can change the 640 spacing unit to match your spacing such as 80, 160, etc. That may get a little tricky if you have complicated tract descriptions, but it can be figured out. If I find one of my weird ones, I will add a few rows and post back. This is wonderful for now. Thanks!
Dale, works great. I only have Excel Starter and it came up fine. Opened it on my Nook tablet last night and surprisingly it loaded fine although the small screen on the tablet is not the best place for a spreadsheet. Now when people ask we have a link to give them. Thanks!
Thank you. I think I posted it in the wrong place as I have not seen much activity on it but I feel validated that yourself and Michael Hutchison understand what it does and it can be changed for 1/8, 1/4, as well as the tract stuff that I don't understand.
Thanks again

Thanks Dale! I have Excel 2007 and it opened right up. I had written my own, but not as clean as yours. I am putting a copy of it with 3 tabs on my desktop. One for each section! :)on
I use the tabs to separate sections as well. I think my version of EXCEL is only 2000 but it works pretty good.
I don't know but I think Google's Office Suite / spreadsheet might open it up if people don't have EXCEL.
Thanks
