My grandpa and father owened oil rights how do I get rlthem in my name after they passed away just found out about it.
You'll have to get their estate probated in most states. Which state are you in?
In Oklahoma, if estate valued over $20,000 (verify amt) and probate and property are in the state record Final Decree in county. They will advise where. Ask if you should file in court clerk and under each section or tract.
If final decree is of record in another state, obtain certified copy and record in County if estate is valued under the statutory amount, $20,000 (verify). If estate over $20k, companies (if producing) may require ancillary probate proceding within property’s state. If not probated prepare Proof of Death of Heirship with contact information and record under each tract. Then forward certified copies to appropriate county clerk with tract descriptions.

Hi Amy -
I'm sorry to hear about your Grandfather and Father's passing. Please accept my condolences.
XTO's Division Order Department will tell you what else you need to submit to them before they can prepare a Division Order for you to sign.
It may be certified copies of your Grandfather's and Father's Wills and Orders Admitting them to Probate, it may just be something as simple as an Affidavit of Heirship.
In the meantime, they will more than likely place any royalty payments due you "in suspense". That is a very normal part of the procedure. No one is getting any monies due you, they just aren't going to release the money until your paperwork is straightened out.
Wait until you hear back from them. I have a friend that works for their Division Order Department (it is located here in Fort Worth, Texas where I live). He says they are really swamped with their paperwork.
Hope this helps -
