In following the permit filings by Chesapeake over the last couple of months, it appears that Chesapeake has all but quit new drilling in LaSalle County. I know they have cut down substantially on the number of rigs they are running but is part of their new strategy the abandonment of LaSalle county. Any news about this?
Thanks

CHK has permitted 50 wells since 10/2014 when the decline in price of oil started. This is probably a minute count as compared to numbers when oil was $100/bbl. Makes sense to me as a mineral owner to slow down on permits until oil recovers. The oil won't disappear so wait for a better dollar is my theory. If possibly CHK is having financial problems, it would be best to cut back on expenditures. Will be interesting to see how O & G professionals respond to your post.
