We have 640 acres leased in East Flaxton Madison unit. The operator was Cobra Oil but we haven’t received any checks the last few months. I am being told Cobra Oil sold the lease to Palo Alto. But they have no information to share and I have not been contacted by them. I only found this out by contact Cobra Oil & Gas. Anyone have contact info on them? I can’t find anything on ND site about them as the operator. I have googled and nothing. Does this mean my original lease is void? Can I file a release or request one from Cobra? Thank you
I wonder if you could start by looking into what company has your lease filed at the courthouse. It might have all the information you’re looking for, if a new company took your lease over. Calling Cobra didnt give you any solid answers? They should have a phone number of the new company.
Im all tbe way in Tn. I will have to see if I can get information from the county recorder. I reached out to Cobra Oil & Gas and they didnt even have a phone number supposedly. Seemed odd.
Did you all the local ND Cobra office? I found this in a quick search. Maybe they would have more info?

I briefly looked at drilling info, looks like 23H last production was 14 barrels for 7/2024 and 26H was 55 barrels for 9/2024. It shows Cobra as the operator for both. Due to the minimal production, its likely the wells are nearing the end of their producing payment quantities and after costs you wont be getting checks. It will be years until you are able to obtain a release as long as theres any production. I only looked at this for 2 minutes so I could have missed something, but thats a quick birdseye view for you.
