Colorado Oil & Gas Senate bill 181 updates and how you can get involved

Links for the upcoming Oil and Gas Senate Bill 181. Minerals owners need to speak up loud and clear if you want to have operations on your minerals.

From COGA:

SB 181 is the most comprehensive oil and natural gas legislation Colorado has seen in decades. Its ultimate impact will be determined by over a dozen regulatory rulemakings at both the state and local level, over the next several years.

We invite you to join the SB 181 Rulemaking Campaign, designed to empower oil and gas employees and ensure that the industry thrives in Colorado for years to come.

Throughout this process, your voice needs to be heard in COGCC hearings, county commission meetings, city council chambers, and and in letters to your elected officials. Local and state regulators need to understand the value of your work and the value of this industry to our state. As with Proposition 112, your voice makes a difference!

This effort is going to take all of us. You can do your part with these easy steps to success:

  • Engage: stay up to date with the rulemaking process and know how you can make a difference by signing-up as an Energy Advocate at www.coga.org/takeaction.
  • Testify: tell your personal energy story at a county commission, city council, or COGCC meeting. We’ll list upcoming opportunities here.
  • Advocate: write, call, and meet with your city councilors and county commissioners to share about the important work you do every day in the oil and gas industry. Check out these helpful talking points.
  • Share: forward Energy Advocate updates to coworkers and supporters. Follow and share COGA content on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
