Chris, it usually means that they tested the product from the wells and it is of the same quality and they just want to be able to share the same tanks and production facilities. Each individual well should still be metered and it should make no difference to lessor/mineral owner.
Ok, after reading Clint's reply, there is more than one definition. Under Clint's definition I would say the lessor/mineral owner was fortunate as is the operator being able to produce two formations at the same time through a single verticle.
