I wonder why it took over a year to finish the completion. I have no interest in this particular well, I’m just curious. All my interests are in Section 17, 18, and 20.
Cindy,
That's a good question.........

Don't know what the number is but a Bays rig in that general vicinity was rigging down tonight. It was right beside Highway 76 north of Lindsay about 12 1/2 miles. It wouldn't be that one as it hasn't taken a year but it's taken a LOT longer to drill than most around here. Seems like everyone they have drilled has taken forever to complete. Sometimes I see their rigs disassembled and just left on location for several months before fracing the things. I think many times they have had lot of investors in the wells. Not my bag!!!
Cindy/Clint,
I noticed that the completion report has a note that says, "delay due to spacing and pooling disputes" and "now settled." Could this be the reason?
Also, do you think that this is an example of a smaller company drilling a well to hold by production the entire section? Then, later they will partner with a larger company to drill other formations. I recently read such thinking from someone on this forum and it made sense to me.
Bridgepoint just sent me a purchase letter offering $4500 per nma in 7-6N-4W at a slightly different point in this section than this well (if I am reading the quarters correctly).

Hello Joyce,
My answer is: Anything is possible from these oil companies/producers. Where do they possibly come up with some of their reasoning for doing things? Sometimes they are right and then other times they just get it wrong. This business is changing every day. New technology and ways of increasing production that were dreams decades ago. Where there's a will there's a way. They have the will so they will find a way........

Keep an eye open on this section. Both Continental and Newfield have a piece of it. I am thinking there will be a Woodford horizontal well here someday. It is in the oil zone, so not as popular as the condensate zone due to recovery rates, but it is held by production now and they can take their time….
