D.O and Royalty checks

Here I sit all broke-en hearted, signed leases with Antero, wells permitted, wells drilled, months go by (eleven) and still waiting for D.O. The wells are in Doddridge County. Now, I have to ask these questions to others out there in Doddridge. Are you getting Royalty, and is it worth waiting for? Just a little info from those out there would be great. What District, are they getting wet gas, what was your waiting time ( from sales to receiving check)? Don't need map #s dollar value, just something to go on.

OR, ARE WE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT??

Hey Arnold,

It's a little disconcerting hearing this from you. You were the one encouraging us to hold on and that it would be worth it! What has made you wary again, just the time it's taking, or is there more to it than that?

Jim, I know that folks that had early leases signed have received checks, but those of us that wells went on line this year are the one's in question. My post is to search out others that are in the same boat, OR MAYBE SOME ARE RECEIVING CHECKS NOW AND NOT POSTING, Just asking for peace of mind. To those that are receiving checks Congratulations, but come-on SHARE.

Yeah, it would be nice to hear some encouraging words!

Jim, i call Denver at least once a week checking, perhaps I have wore out my welcome as the analysis and I went the rounds two weeks ago, she now transfers me to another person. My heartburn with her was with the amount of wells being drilled and put on line, the office that issues the D.O. are behind, so GET SOME MORE HELP, that really pissed her off, but it's the truth. I talked with another analysis last week about a well that went on line in July of this year, her reply was " won't get to it for 9 months. So this is what we are now up against. Please, for those who are in the same boat as I "let's put the pressure on call, call, call.

Good point. And for those who are not yet leased try to get language about being paid no later than a certain number of months after production starts or pay a high rate of interest on the owed royalty. Good luck with that but worth a try.

For all you beginners, Nancy is so right, My first few leases signed with Antero was is 2009,2010,2011, so did not think to do that, Stupid . By the way the lease that I signed in 2009, is one of the wells that went on line in 2014, My patience is wearing thin.

I spoke with Antero last week too, and got the same....it is very discouraging. Although all of my leases have wells that have been drilled and are producing (first sales in July, 2014) they tell me that the title opinions that were filed in January 2014, are STILL not back! I was told a while ago that they expected them the end of October 2014. I signed the leases in January 2012. She says they don't expect the TO back now until after Jan 2015. THEN she said that they couldn't get to it right away and MAYBE 90 days after the TO could I expect payment. I got a sad story about how they were doing the best they can, but they were understaffed and trying to hire. I almost applied for a job! Really very discouraging and I'm feeling powerless.

Jacqueline: Thanks for the post, we need others to share there experiences as well. At least now, I don't feel as though I am the only lone bandit.

I wish someone would post that IS getting paid...and maybe a timeline too.

I posted this all on my FB page. Maybe we'll get a hit!

Jim what is your FB page?

I don't have a current lease w/ Antero, but since they just purchased a well that I own shares in...and they are doing an "ownership report" I will be certain to ensure there is a timeline.

When the lady shared that they needed to research...I pushed for a line in the sand. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. =/

Keep us posted Stephanie P!

They have always been short of division order and title people....and they always will be. They have been short handed for at least 20-30 years. The money is used as operating capital, being slow is in the operators best interest when interest on late royalty does not apply.

Stephanie, my Facebook page. Did you mean that or are you asking for a link to it?

R.W. Most of what you say is true, However: Antero Resources:

Company Facts

Jim I assumed there was some there might be some sort of fb group dealing w these issues. :).

Arnold, my guess is that most, if not all O&G companies operatewiyh as few title and DO as possible. They’re in a hurry about what they want to be in a hurry about and not in a hurry when it benefits them. (I.e. My situation where it’s going to result in them paying out some money. :frowning:

Stephanie, Oh I see. I don't know if there is, but I am hoping maybe someone will respond to my post. We'll see!

lots of people ARE getting paid in Doddridge...I guess we just aren't any of them. Everytime I hear from Antero, I take what is said with a grain of salt. My family has been playing the waiting game since early 2013, and as a Cleveland Brown's fan I am use to hearing..."maybe next year" ;)
