I have question, perhaps it has already been answered but I will ask it anyway.
How does one go about finding what wells are in a particular lease? I have some very old leases that were 1897 and have no idea what wells are on that lease if any.
Thanks
Eleanor

I will say once again. If you are going to play in this game, you need legal advice. I am receiving Royality Payments. I know others who are receiving royality payments. Antero is not bad to deal with compared to most O&G companies. But, they are expected to make a profit. They are contractors that contract work out to other contractors. At the end of 2013 they controlled 450,000 acres of mineral leases in Ohio, PA, and WV. They have somewhere around 400 employees. around 200 in 2013. They have a Capitalization in excess of $13B. In 1985 I was HR for a Defense contractor. 400 employees with a cap of about $40,000,000. How do they do this? They contract out just about everything. The Landmen/women are not Antero Employees, they are contract employees. The drill rigs are not owned by Antero, they are contracted. etc, etc. The pipeline employees, the road guards? All contract employees. I am no smarter than any of you. But, I got lucky. I had some experience in Natural resource contracting. I did not get to negotiate my lease, it was done by my father in 1960. It has a clause that says that we are to be paid 60 days after initial production. I started out trying to deal with them like good ol boys. Quickly learned through the SORO organization that that didn't work. So, hired legal rep. for Surface Use Agreement/ pipeline ROW ect. Lawyer got too busy to respond to me as quickly as I felt I needed. Hired a Law firm that Advertised in NARO newsletter. They took me for $5000 before I wised up and terminated them. Hired another local Lawyer. First well started Production in 07/2013. In May 2014 had Lawyer send letter to Steptoe & Johnson quoting terms of my lease. Received Check in June for all RI up to April 2014. If I had as many leases as Arnold, I would probably have a law firm as large as Steptoe and Johnson representing me. My reason for writing this term paper(LOL) is to try to impress you that this is not a game for amateurs. If you are a mineral owner, you are the enemy of everyone who isn't. The Non-mineral owning surface owners, the O&G company, the people who live along the roads and have to put up with the disruption of their lives, the environmentalists, the government who wants your money(does anyone remember the 1970's Windfall profits tax?) . Guess who ended up paying that? Hint; it wasn't the Exons. OK, guess I've vented enough. I'll just finish by saying, "If you have an interest that would amount to 2 or more net acres, you can probably afford a lawyer. Oh, BTW The Mineral Web, (Where you are now) Has a natural gas royality calculator that can give you a pretty good idea of what your interest might be worth. Most of Antero's pools seem to be between 200 and 400 acres. However, they do seem to be getting bigger. Have fun.
Jacqueline, Do you know the person's name that you talked to at the 6405 number? I have been calling 3043577310 and talking with Katelyn, but I guess I have bugged her too much as she will no longer talk to me.
I am dealing with Lindsay. But I only have called 3 times in a one year period. After all, given the time table she had laid out, there is no reason to believe that there is any "new' information. So I just don't see the value in calling repeatedly. I have made a note on my calendar to call towards the end of March 2015 if I don't hear from them first
Jacqueline: I have two wells >The Gaskins and the Holden that went on line in Jan, 2014, so when I first called Katelyn in June, just to get a feel as to when I might receive a D.O. I was told in a couple of months, so I, like you believed that info. Oct came around and no word, I started to call every week, now here it is Nov 28 and I am still waiting. The last talk that I had with her was pretty heated, It is my opinion that the backlog lies within Denver, too many wells on line and not enough people to handle all the titles, etc to meet the lease contract of six months. Even when I receive a D.O I wonder how long before receiving a check?? I hope that you can understand my Heartburn.
Of course I do Arnold. But Katelyn isn't the person responsible for their lack of personnel, nor can she change that. That's all I'm saying. My sense is that each of these people is assigned to a certain amount of wells or assigned to wells by name. Some of these leases are complicated and can have as many as 200 people on a well. That isn't to say that they are justified in being so slow or not responding to you, but if you can't get her to respond, maybe you should call the main number and ask for her supervisor. Because calling her every week doesn't seem to be very productive for you, right?
It will be 2 years this coming Feb. since I have signed my lease and still waiting on the D.O. I'm seeing JULY stamped all over the PERMITs on the WV Government site..so Antero must not be the only ones backlogged and short of help to process the mounds of paperwork. Im hoping 2015 brings some good news.
I also have the same concerns. I signed in July 2013 for Antero Drilling and Royalty Lease. I was contacted by phone in Oct 2013 asking verbal permission to start drilling. That was 14 months ago. I have heard nothing since.
David, I have a well that was permitted on 4-12 2013, drilled in Sept.2013, fracked in Oct-Nov 2013, went on line in Jan 2014, and still waiting for a Div. Order. Their are certain steps that you can do to follow up on your well. This forum is a good start, read the post and learn. Several folks on here with a lot of knowledge.
Hi, Well it's only one acre but i did receive a div order yesterday. It was for two wells, the Gaskins #1-2, Effective date of first production was 12/18/13 and 12/28/13, so as you can see it was almost a year before the D. O reached my desk. Antero will be paying a late charge of 3%. Now as when I will be getting a check, was told a month but with Christmas WHO KNOWS.
Jacqueline, Yes it was mailed to me, received it yesterday, read it over and over again, could not find anything that I disagreed with, so signed it and returned it today. Denver say's check within a month, but with Christmas I will start looking last of Jan, or Feb.
Oh thanks so much for that information Arnold! I wasn't sure how they communicated those D.O.'s Really am hoping you get a check within the month...really am hoping for you. Merry Christmas!
Elenor Casler--- Nancy shared this information on another thread. I found them to be VERY helpful. The maps they provided were extremely helpful. One of my maps was from 1904. The copy wasn't the greatest, but they even spent a few minutes with me explaining the maps. (Bottom line was the confirmed they should all be part of the same parcel of mineral rights. That was HUGE for all my worries about it. They also offered to make a map with all of the parcels together on it. I didn't ask for a price, but he said it wouldn't be much. =)

Hi Robin, I feel that we are all in this together, and the more we discuss our own interest (share) the more we all learn. Bottom line > peace of mind. Happy Holidays to you also.
Antero called me last week. They confirmed that we do "own rights". She said they have to do a "deck" to get us paid. She said it will be the middle of January. I'll be interested to see if what they come up with for payments and how it jives with what I know. I asked her if she was paying someone else for our shares. She confirmed it in a very round about way. Antero only took over operation of the well in 2013, so I am sure they were happy to purchase someone else's disaster. =(
