Help! I just received my first Division order. It’s from Equinor and explains that they have “partnered with Chesapeake’ regarding my wells in PA and Equinor is responsible for disbursing revenue. Does this mean I will only receive royalties now from Equinor? Is this good, bad or neutral? The FAQ asks” Why is Equinor’s Price much lower than Chesapeake/Southwestern?" but the answer seems to say their pricing reflect the market price. Was Chesapeake paying greater than the market price? Sorry if this is obvious. It’s all new to me. Thanks!
Suzi, you have a lot going on here. Was you OGL originally with CHK? If so, they may still be selling the gas and Equinor is distributing the proceeds. Market prices have been down substantially, so this may be another reason. CHK is not known for paying above market prices since the use many mechanisms to lower the price paid at the wellhead.
